M&P 2.0 + throw in an Apex trigger when you get a chance. Night and day difference, way better than any other pistol I've handled. Being a bigger guy you shouldn't have a problem concealing it, and adjustable backstraps to fit your hand.
CZ just doesn't have a ton of aftermarket support...
I haven't spent much time out west during the winter other than snowboarding, but I'm from Michigan and it still gets pretty cold here. Personally I don't think you need the cirque/LPP and the Alpine. I'd just start with the LPP and see if you think that is enough, along with the mid and base...
Mechanical Engineer at an automation company. Start off with 2 weeks vacation, but gain more each year and can roll over up to 10 unused days, so I'm try to save some up in order to take longer hunting trips in the next few years
I'm currently having one built by Karl at Kampfeld Custom and have been impressed by his responsiveness with answering my questions and providing feedback about components. I've been able to supply every component, and for most of them have just had everything shipped right to his shop. It's my...
Not under 25 ounces, but close, is the Tangent Theta Long Range Hunter 3-15x. It's right around 27 ounces I believe. Haven't used this one specifically, but TT has excellent glass
First Lite's always been good to me, quick to respond to questions about gear, and I had a package from them stolen off my porch that they replaced immediately
Bigger than the pop up 30, but I'll be trying out the Mystery Ranch Pintler this season for the same use case that you describe. I think the accessibility to the main pocket on the Pintler might be better while I have the pack hanging up in the tree with me, so that is why I went with the...
I don't think these are exactly what you're looking for, but you could check out the Crye field pants or combat pants. They both accept knee pads, with the combat pants being external and field pants being internal
I take it seriously in the sense that it just helps refine the hunting senses/gets me in the hunting mindset before deer season opens, is a fun way to scout new areas, and keeps me in the field more often. But in terms of scouting, research, gear, and other prep, no not as serious.
Also I...
First Lite - Were extremely prompt in helping me with sizing on some items as I was between some of their recommendations on the size chart.
Then the package was either mis-delivered, or most likely stolen (yay city life, my neighbors suck), and they were able to send a replacement order right...
I second everything Bzone said above. Permethrin is your friend. Also helps to wear gaiters so they can't really crawl into your pant legs. Tall grasses are where I find them the most
I used to work in the RV industry at one of the tier one suppliers for all the OEM's. If I were buying a trailer and had the money, I'd only really consider Winnebago, Grand Design, and Jayco (or some of Jayco's subsidiaries). Walking through some of those factories makes you really question...
