Hey All, I have a Tikka T3x Wideland Veil 6.5 cm that is all tuned up. I adore this rifle, but don’t adore the scope. It shoots Hammers through a quarter at 100 all day long. When I assembled the rifle I found a good deal on a Vortex Viper HST. It has the BDC reticle and I liked its ease, and...
Dry side for me. I try not to hunt it though. It’s only if I don’t draw in another state. I have struck out so far this year so…
I always hunt deer on the dry side, because I’m lucky to have links to productive private land.
Some of other days fawn protection work.

I know people that have killed deer with a 22 LR. I’m not a fan. Does that make it a deer rifle? Jack O’Connor killed an elephant with a 270. Is it an elephant cartridge?
I watched multiple bucks over 300 pounds this year (both mulie and whitetail) and my Washington was around there this year. My MT bucks was closer to 250. The WA buck fed on the farm and hid in the cliffs and had 2cm of back fat on him. It was a great year for moisture and growth.
It doesn’t if you use equivalent bullets. Why wouldn’t you use the equivalent bullet in the 30-30 then? Man, let me tell you… I am no lover of the 30-30.
It’s very different. He shoots a bullet that’s over double the mass, greater momentum, at the same velocity, with great sectional density, and yes it flies like a football.
