I’ve also killed deer with the 308, 264, 300 Remington ultra mag and the only one that put the down as fast was the 300 ultra mag. But it kicked like crazy and the muzzle last would bow your hat off! I do like my 264 sitting in a blind in here Texas but it’s to heavy to haul around elk hunting... -

I’ve used my 243 to kill dozens of deer with factory loads from 75gr to 100gr. My preferred ammo was alway Remington 100 gr core lokt. -

More elk posts would do wonders for my faith. I love my 243 and want to use it for elk.
