Aspercreme, over the counter topical creme. Little to no scent. Non greasy. Rub it into your joints and muscles when needed. Follow the directions. Works quickly.
I use a DMT serrated diafold sharpening rod. Comes in different grit. These are diamond sharpeners. Require no water or oil as lubricant, fold to secure the rod, last forever, almost. Serrated blades are more time consuming to sharpen, yet hold an edge when during rough work like joint separating.
I second the idea of chaps as an option. They are every durable; brambles, briars and burdock don't stick to them. They can be removed easily when conditions call for lighter gear. Can be waterproof or not. Only drawback in my opinion , is they don't cover your crotch if you are in tall wet grass.
Do you find a need for the fanny pack functions while wearing the killdeer? The killdeer seems like a size and weight savings compared to other harnesses. How do you keep the items that won't go in your pants pockets?
Kifaru makes the Rogan, a relatively small fanny pack that can be worn across your waist in the front. Has three zippered compartments to separate gear. 2 inch belt holds it in place. Worth a look.
