Makes sense to me. And not many folks have wrung this stuff out to your level. We all appreciate you sharing thoughts. 8’s is another can of worms with the different objective sizes, weights, etc. but it seems to make the most sense for me. -

Yep, fully accepting that I don’t know (or know the difference in a stated 10 year and implied lifetime.) Unknown on Leica, I didn’t purchase/test any. Could be, though. -

Unknown. I just read what I could find. Certainly better if that is accurate, and current. If it’s lifetime, that absolutely changes my thoughts on their warranty. I know there was discussion here about the warranty change recently, but I haven’t called Swarovski so I’ve no idea which is correct. -

From Swarovski website. I could only find it stated if you download a product manual from them, warranty statement is at the end. As I brought up as well though, lots of stories of Swaro taking care of folks beyond that. Which is great. Not sure how much that has translated to them changing... -

Thanks Robby, I really appreciate that. I was noticing testing a few 10x that while I could tell the magnification was higher, it didn’t seem like “wow! I can see more!” Definitely changes my thought process to the 10x being the best all around mountain bino. I was even heading down the path... -

Honestly, so am I. I didn’t think it was as big of a deal until I took a liking to the Zeiss. I think I could very well be missing out. Since I’m going to rent a pair now and can back my purchase timing back, I might try and get my hands on a set. -

That could all very well be true. I absolutely believe the GPO warranty is different than the Vortex business model of building a planned replacement into the price. The GPO is *very* good optically. If they keep doing that, and with a warranty like that, they’ll be around at least as long as... -

Yeah the specs are making me very interested. I just saw this review and info and actually hadn’t considered anything other than the straight 10x42’s. Now I’m even second guessing the 10x over the 8x.
