    I would just try a tracking test and stretch it out. If there is doubt in your mind I would send the scope in for warranty work as nothing is worse than doubt when your about to pull the trigger.

    One fits in a short action one fits in a long action. I would go short action all day over long action but I think the 7prc is a ballistically better bullet.

    That rifle is great no need to change anything. I personally would try to find a guy at a local range who will teach you and use the 2k on ammo. But the rifle will suit you well get a good scope that tracks Properly such as nightforce leupold mark5 etc and good mounts.

    I have seen 2 in my life that were in huntable areas. No I didn’t have a tag for that unit and no it was not even hunt season. So I would say very rare unless you go to places that manage for trophy quality, however you will wait 20+ years to draw a tag.

    I have a similar story with a 6x6 elk. Short version, my buddy shot a nice 6x6 that took 3 steps and bedded, it was dying pretty fast. A guy with his 3 boys pop out run down to it and shoot it in the head with a pistol 😂.
