That is a SCREAMER. A 6-7PRC would cool but I'm trying to stay in a standard short action. Although a 6-300WSM is right on the brink of being too long I think. I did a quick measurement and I'd imagine I'm right at 2.950"
I'm always into burning barrels up! But i think you might be right, the diminishing returns may not make it worth it. I shot him a message to see if i can get any info.
Yes I think that’s true. It might be getting close to pressure?? Not sure. I’m sure you could do it, I think the creed just offers a little more breathing room.
Load development was gravy. 41.5-42.5 gr of H4350 and .030 off the lands.
I wouldn’t hate a 6.5x47 with 144 LRHT.
With everybody having chubs over 6mm lately, why isn’t the 6-300wsm or 6-270wsm more popular? Especially with the advent of Lapua 300wsm, ADG 270wsm or Peterson 270wsm.
I’m thinking about a 16” 6-270wsm to hopefully sling 115s at 3100.
Anybody built one??
I also considered a 25x47 but from I researched it would be tough to make power factor unless it’s a 26”+. I shoot a 25 creed and 135LRHT in a 25” barrel at a very mild 2900. It hammers. And alpha brass is awesome
Brand new box of Hornady 308 225 ELDM 100 count. My dumbass accidentally bought these instead of 338 ELDX when I was in a hurry at the store. $50 shipped
Finally getting around to doing some load development. Shooting 225 SST. Waiting to try 250 AB as they’re expensive to shoot, ha! If I can get a 250 going 2700 I’ll be pretty stoked. No pressure signs yet at almost 2900. Just thumps the crap out of me
