I have had for a couple of seasons. Purchased new and used during September hunts only so should have plenty of life in the bulb still. Only reason I am selling is I am switching over to the rechargeable.
Dude when is the last time you went and hung around on some winter Range? It ain't good. Cheatgrass, greasewood, and PJ....mmmmmmm sounds appetizing.
I had to circle around here to see what everyone was saying...looks like many are still framing this as a resident vs. non resident issue...
No experience with the Vortex razor binos but I have never been impressed with the Razor spotting scopes I have looked through. I stepped up from the diamondbacks to BX4's about 6 years ago and they have been good glass for me, 120% better than the Diamondbacks. The diamondbacks hurt my head to...
Awesome to see this on here. I manage an herbicide application division and am a licensed applicator in CO as well as UT and WY. We do lot of well pad and winter range work in the NW part of CO. I am a firm believer that one of the most critical fights that hunters are barely aware of is noxious...
Personally, my standards are increasing but I am just getting started hunting mule deer...it is all about your perspective and where you start.
Trophy quality is a direct result of population size, buck to doe ratios, and genetics. The first two are controlled by game and fish dept. with tag...
Wow, I need to get a scale to test objectively I guess. I could swear my stock trigger is the best I've ever had out of the box. I have my trigger tech adjusted to the minimum 2.5lbs it is capable of and the tikka feels like it breaks with less. Thanks for the info.
Nice Rifle! I have had a Tikka Superlite in 30-06 for about 5 years now and absolutely love it. I was gifted a more expensive rifle with some additional custom rifle type features last year...but I still prefer the Tikka for the feel of the action, trigger, and overall way it has performed...
Habitat loss and fragmentation. The crowds would be a non-issue if we had resilient unfragmented habitat to support wildlife through drought and tough winters. Sometime between the 60's and 90's it seems like we were in a sweet spot for hunting access and wildlife populations rebounding from...
Congrats! I tried that once (holding all 3 species archery tags in same unit). I didn't shoot anything. That was my first year archery hunting and ain't much changed with a stick and string for me lmao
I have been passively bear hunting the last 4-5 years while I have other tags in my pocket. Only a handful of times have I targeted bears and only for a day or two at a time. I just cannot spare the time off work this time of year and prefer to focus on elk. I would really like to kill one this...
Strictly speaking western draw hunts, I have punched a tag a few times the first day of the season that I chose to hunt. Only one time did I hunt opening day of a season and punch a tag. I won't even go out for archery elk until after muzzleloader season. The first few weeks of hunters tend to...
I was a pretty talented trumpet player in high school. I suck at calling. I have to use small diaphram also. Air flow is no issue, however...I tried one of the phelps ez buglers and kept blowing the latex out lmao. Hope my buddy has some time to hunt with me this year!
The episodes with archeological and historical guests are always wonderful. I quit listening for a long time after listening quite religiously to the first couple of years because I got tired of some of the characters. Recently had an archeology kick and went through and listened to a bunch of...
There is a Murdochs in Craig that probably has what you need depending on what quality means to you for the boot. If you are looking for Crispi, Kennetrek and that level I would order before you leave or plan on purchasing somewhere closer to Denver.
Those are nice rifles. I really like that for the tikka and this Sako, you don't need to shell out a c-note for a base, just get some rings and go. For me personally, I am not into the ergonomic stocks. I prefer the simplicity and less places for crud to get caught in a hunt.
That's funny I am somewhat opposite this year. I have the option of shooting my Mesa FFT in 300 wm that I got last winter or my Tikka Superlite in 30-06 I have had for several years and killed a lot of animals. I will be taking my plastic Tikka this year because I have not had the range time to...
My buddy just picked up a mesa fft for around $1500 bucks. I don't think you can beat that for the price. Gets you about all the "custom" options outside of a carbon barrel. I paid 1200 for my Tikka t3 superlite a few years ago and it has a plastic stock...
So I will go with $1500 as the point...
