Thanks for the input. Im mainly looking for a light weight shoe/boot for the vortex mammoth challenge. I'll be rucking with 55lbs for 30-35 miles of 3 days. 16 minute mile pace. Its mild terrain. So I want something light, comfy and supportive. The lapponias are nice, but If I can cut weight...
Interesting why is that? On paper I passed them up because of how stiff they were and heavy compared to the lapponia I went with. I have Cripsi briksdal mtn Gtx and Neveda boots that I love, but the lapponia give me bad blisters.
Don't own a two vets, but im looking into buying one to upgrade from leofoto. The new two vets voyager has similar specs expect is 2.9 pounds lighter than my leofoto. However, Two vets customer services is awesome. worth the difference in itself.
I decided to order the first lite uncompadre foundry over the axis hybrid to do the same thing. It's more water resistant, and will bust brush. Plus Scheels had it on sale for $200.
Maybe its just me, but the more I think about it, the less I think the axis hybrid makes sense more. Its really...
Thanks for the feedback! I ordered a set and size down 1/2 size. They fit well with room for large darn tuff sock. But they do fit tighter in the width of the mid foot. I don't run EE or wides in other crispi boots but might need to in the Lapponia.
Would these be comfortable to ruck in? I wore Nevada insulated for my hunt in Colordo and loved them. Im doing the Vortex mammoth challenge and want a lighter non-insulated boot.
Does anyone know who makes a barrel in 6mm creedmoor that would fit the POF Revolution?
I have a revolution in 6.5 creedmoor which has been awesome ( 1moa), but my barrel is about shot out. Ideally want to tighten the accuracy and use it for competitions.
Has anyone swapped their barrels on...
I went a little different route and am glad I did cause that would have been overkill!
Went with first lite marino base, sitka ambiet med layer, and sitka jetstream outer layer. I kept a Rab puffy in my pack and only used it while glassing.
I like the set up, and it worked it. Still thinking...
I run a mix set up.
I love FL Marino base layers. For early to mid-season, I run FL base, and the Foundry pant. It warm, vents well for walking in, and the knee pads help a lot when in a saddle and up against the tree. I run the Sitka fanatic hoody over bases because like the built-in...
I am looking at the First Lite Chamberlain and Rab Positron Pro. They have similar fill weights of 10.8 oz and 11oz at 800 fill.
I am looking at puffy jackets and need help comparing them for a late-season rifle hunt in Colorado.
I bought the Sitka Kelvin Lite, but it doesn't seem very warm...
I really appreciate the feedback. Think Im going to pull the trigger on the ambient over the older Sitka kelvin. I will wear it with my merino wool (fl furnace) base and under the jetstream jacket. I just picked up the kevlin lite down for glass but it doesn't seem very warm.
Thanks for the reply! I think I would appreciate the slight performance gains. I currently have the Sitka Fanatic hoody for mid layer but for my western hunt, I thought I would replace the fanatic hoody for something warmer that breathes much better.
