G5 M5 broadheads along with the practice broadheads. Both 100 grains. Great broadheads. 2 of them have never been shot and are razor sharp. One of them has been shot at targets but never at game and can be sharpened easily. I switch to 125 grain but these are truly great fixed blade broadheads...
Happened to my brother earlier this year. Luckily the ground meat didn't spoil but it wouldnt be good to refreeze so he took it to a local butcher and they turned it into summer sausage.
Personally didn't carry when elk hunting in Colorado but one of the members in our 3 person group did. We saw 1 black bear and it was very scared of us and ran away. I think I would carry in grizzly country.
Would had to see these while in the back country. I heard a story by John Dudley when they killed an elk and were basically surrounded by wolves during archery season and they had to shoot their way out....
I was thinking about doing something similar because I was in need of an inreach for a Western Elk hunt and also in the market for a dog collar GPS for grouse hunting in the midwest. After crunching some numbers it was actually cheaper for me to buy a Garmin Inreach mini 2 and a Garmin Pro 550...
