That's crazy. My rifle has been amazing. shooting sub moa. We have killed a pile of animals with it. maybe I got lucky and found a gem, or maybe you were unlucky and got a lemon?
I bought a savage 12FV cabelas model 6.5 creedmoor a couple years ago for $300. That is probably the most accurate gun we have. That thing just flat out shoots. I did replace the factory stock with a custom Boyd’s.
I think I have a slow barrel browning xbolt speed lr. Mine has a 26” barrel and I’m shooting the Hornady ELD-X at 2850fps MV and the Berger 156 at 2750 MV, but man the gun shoots! I was a little disappointed in velocities at first, but the gun just drives tacks!!
We have killed a handful of mule deer, elk, and oryx here in NM with the 156 EOL's from our PRC. We are getting right at 2900fps mv with our setup and we have no complaints. everything we have shot with this combination have been 1 shot kills. closest was 150 yard mule deer, furthest was 665...
my kids have stacked up the elk, antelope, mule deer, whitetails, coues, and even a couple gemsbok and aoudad with the creedmoor and ELD-X. Never had any issues.
Added another kill with the 156 yesterday. A buddy of mine borrowed my rifle and killed an oryx here in NM. Shot through the shoulder at 289 yards. Quarter size entry, heart and lungs mush. Bull ran about 150 yards after the shot and tipped over dead.
I shoot 143 precision hunters out of my creedmoor and 156 Bergers out of the PRC. I have not found any issues with either. The only reason I chose the Bergers over the Hornady's for the PRC was because of the accuracy. Especially at longer ranges. Those Bergers are accuracte, and they...
I shoot a 385-388 grain arrow for everything. 27” draw 72#. I’ve never had any issues with deer or elk size game. Don’t overthink it. Find something that flies true and you’re good to go.
