In my experience both the TLR and the TBT are very sensitive to seating depth. I've found that both like a good jump to the lands and once you find the sweet spot they will shoot.
They are absolutely my favorite bullet design with a bonded front end and solid shank. They work very well...
I have one. It's housed in one of the early model Winchester coyote m70's. I am a huge 7mm fan, and the WSM is an incredible cartridge if you reload for it. If you don't reload there are very few factory ammo options. I got lucky with my rifle and ended up with a fairly long throat. If you...
The atmosphere, people, culture and food were definitely an unexpected bonus to the trip. The thought for attempting a grand slam crossed my mind but I feel all the hunts would be very similar. That is in no way a bad thing, just a few other hunts I want to make before I circle back around to...
I'm sure it's one of the same forms I'll have to fill out to move all the guns I've bought here back to the US. Only difference is mine will be a permanent move and his will be here for only a short time. Thanks again.
Thanks guys. He has his Deutscher Jagdschein which is highly regarded in the European countries so from what I'm hearing hunters ed should be no issue. Really doesn't sound like any of this will be too much of an issue other then just having to pull tags for a good hunt.
Don't worry DJ, no...
DJ, thank you so much for taking the time to reply. If he decides that borrowing one of my rifles is the best choice, is there any other permit required for him to carry a rifle or will just the fact that he has a non resident hunting license be enough to poses the rifle? Thanks in advance.
Howdy all,
This is a long time overdue but just wanted to share a great experience I had this past spring. My buddy called me up and said lets go hunt Ibex, I was hesitant but excited to say the least. It was a little nerve racking being an American traveling abroad (outside of Germany) for a...
Howdy all,
I’ve done some googling with zero results but with the wealth of information and experience on this site I’m sure someone will have an answer for me. I have been living and hunting in Germany for the past 3 years and it has been an incredible experience to say the least. My time...
I used to have the same misconception, but after living in Germany for the past 3 years I can tell you many European countries are just as free to own weapons if not more free then the USA.
Petar,
Hallo from Deutschland. You are correct, the S&B PST is nothing but a hornady SST. This is a very soft and frangible bullet for heavy boned game like a boar at 300 win mag speeds especially at close driven game distances. I had the same problem with the PST, the HPC is a little better...
Here's a few from Germany. If anyone stateside finds themselves with some free time around Ramstein AFB in Germany and wants to get out in the woods let me know and we might be able to work something out.
I hunt in a lot of different situations from backpacking in the mountains to sitting in a stand for pigs at night and I really like the modularity and versatility that the Eberlestock provides. I currently have the little big top with the carrier frame and this covers just about every situation...
