Matt Rinella Speaks to Pope and Young

If anything, me being a guide should show how attainable hunting opportunity is. I manage to do all the hunts I do on a guides salary. Hunting opportunities are out there if you look for them.

Matt Rinella Speaks to Pope and Young

I’ve listened to a podcast of his where he literally told people to go to his website and buy his merch at the end. Their website claims it’s at cost, but anyone that has ordered hats and shirts in mass quantities before can easily tell there’s profit being made on them.

Matt Rinella Speaks to Pope and Young

Most guys crying about lack of opportunity and not getting their fair share are the guys that are unwilling to do the research to find these opportunities. I do at least 1 international hunt and numerous out of state hunts a year, and most of them are easily attainable by anyone. Most are...

Matt Rinella Speaks to Pope and Young

I think he’s a hypocritical DB. I’ve listened to him on the Meateater Podcast, and all he did was yell over people and get angry. If I’m the one paying for my tags, and I’m acquiring them legally, it’s not really anyone’s business to tell me how many animals I can kill a year.

    Utah Extended Archery Success

After getting home from my last hunt, I had a couple days at home to hunt the extended before I have to leave town again. I didn’t have extremely high hopes, but I was able to find this buck my first morning out. I watched him that morning and evening without any opportunity for a stalk. I was...

    Kyrgyzstan Ibex Success

Those are the 2 main areas for ibex as far I understand it. I’m planning on going again, but I’ll wait until the area I hunted opens again. The trophy quality/potential seems to be a lot better than most other areas.

    Kyrgyzstan Ibex Success

Don’t book anything in Kyrgyzstan until after January. There’s a proposed 3 year ban on hunting, that the outfits I’ve talked to seem to think will be voted in. They meet and January and will know for sure then.

    Kyrgyzstan Ibex Success

It’s a Savage 110 ultralight in .28 nosler with a 4-32 Nightforce NX8. I get sh!t for my Savage, but it’s killed 2 desert sheep, 4 mule deer, 3 coues deer, a handful of coyotes, a bobcat, 2 black bears, and an Ibex this year alone!

    Kyrgyzstan Ibex Success

Yeah, at that price I’d probably leave them as well. According to my outfitter, they’ve always had hunters take their horns since 2008 with no issues. I’m sitting at LAX right now waiting for my flight home to Utah. They took me to secondary screening for my rifle, and didn’t even look at my...

    Kyrgyzstan Ibex Success

Thanks guys! It was an incredible experience. I believe you were hunting a different region Buzzy so maybe that’s why there was a discrepancy in the permits, but the outfitter I went with had close to 40 hunters this season and everyone of them took their ibex home with them.

    Kyrgyzstan Ibex Success

As I’m writing this I’m just about to leave my hotel in Bishkek for the airport. When I arrived I used the VIP service at the airport which made collecting baggage, and getting guns through extremely easy. After getting everything sorted out at the airport I had a 5 hour drive to Karakol. We...

    Kyrgyzstan Ibex Hunt

Looks like an amazing trip! It still feels surreal that I’m leaving next week! My 2 buddies that recently went had no problem bringing their ibex back with them, that must have been a very recent change.

    2022 Bear Success Thread

My Montana spot and stalk bear from May and my Saskatchewan bear from June. My Montana bear was a scrapper with his ears all torn up and a missing eye. My Canada bear has been shot 3 different times with a shotgun. We found lead pellets from a dove load, steel BB’s and 2 pieces of buckshot in him.

    Kyrgyzstan Ibex Hunt

I just booked a cancellation ibex hunt that I’ll leave for on November 10th. I live in the Salt Lake area, but am considering flying out of LAX due to flights being about $1,400 cheaper and there only being one connecting flight in Istanbul vs 3 or 4 flying out of Salt Lake. Is there anything I...

Anyone going to Kyrgyzstan this Fall for Ibex or Sheep?

I’ll be headed there next month after Ibex. I’m not sure how I’d be able to get it to her after I’m there, but I’d be happy to help in anyway I can.
