I'm telling everyone: monometal bullets and Weatherby cartridges are like cheese and burger!
I know Weatherby are now loading the Hammer bullets in their factory ammo, which says something about the quality.
My position has always been multiple safes as opposed to one giant safe. Those huge guys are impossible to move, and they're typically more expensive. Also, if you move from one small safe to a bigger safe, you still have to find out how to get rid of the old one. Speaking strictly...
Super jealous of your first time. Wish I could relive that again; cherish the good and the bad!!
Brought and didn't need: two pairs of sunglasses. Wore the same one the whole time and never took the other one out of the case. Not huge, but still.
Didn't bring and could have used...
I have both a set of dial and digital calipers I use for separate purposes. The dial calipers have been my go-to choice for a long time and haven't let me down. I bought a cheap, but well-reviewed, set off Amazon a few years ago to use with the Hornady comparator gauges. They've both proven...
Yes! I remember your previous thread and I'm glad you were able to find something that shoots like the rifle should. The 210 is a fantastic sweet spot between weight and hair-on-fire velocity that makes the most of a 338 caliber rifle. I've been a proponent of the monometals in Weatherby...
This! A 110TTSX at just a shade over 3300fps out of my 24" barreled M700 shoots into tiny cloverleaves and is absolutely deadly on deer sized stuff. I waffle between that and the good ol' 130 Partitiion, but the Barnes has never let me down.
Mine is sitting on a "riser" I made out of some scrap 3/4" particle board. I chose the composite material because it's heavy, dense, and doesn't shift much with temperature or humidity. The stand is about 10" tall to raise both the scale and powder trickler up off the bench and closer to eye...
I've ordered from these guys on a few occasions and been totally satisfied. They're an excellent source for Norma components - specifically the brass - which I have found to be of excellent quality over the years.
I'll agree with others that the hype surrounding some of these boutique knife makers is a bit much. I'm also getting a bit tired of Benchmade jacking up their prices. The best pocket knife I have ever owned (and still EDC) is a Benchmade mini griptillian that cost $60 about 15 years ago...
Well, irrespective of what Powder Valley has to say, and I don't doubt them, I started consciously moving away from Alliant powders about two years ago. Yes, they're very good, but they've ALWAYS been more expensive for what I consider no appreciable improvement in performance or accuracy...
I happen to have a dearth of experience with this cartridge, and, as a matter of fact, the exact same rifle as the OP. I went through the load development process almost 20 years ago with mine, and the 225gr. Nosler AB simply wouldn't shoot out of my rifle. A bunch of powders, messing around...
