    Backpack Training

Absolutely. Having to plan or decide what your workout is every time is going to make you that much less likely to do it if you're already demotivated. I use the "fit notes" app to track workouts. I pre-plan each individual workout in there at the start of every 4-6 week cycle. And then I add...

    Backpack Training

I've used and tweaked a few of the free workouts found here. It's worth checking out; https://www.goruck.com/blogs/news-stories/rucking-workout-plans I stay pretty active year round, so for me, it's really about just getting the feet and joints /spine used to load bearing, as the GPP /fitness...

Draft Black Bear Conservation Plan for California available for comment until June 14, 2024

Maybe it's because I'm viewing on my phone, or because the comment period has past, but I'm not seeing a link?

Where is the future of optics headed?

There's also the cost/barrier to entry aspect. I don't like seeing sports/hobbies go the way of NASCAR, where $$ thrown at it is such a huge aspect of success, and rural families that actually need the meat financially can't hardly do it anymore. Maybe hunting is a long ways from that, but I...

    TRT

That's awesome, looks like fun trails. Here's a picI took Wednesday after finishing up an after school ride with 3 of my sons. Dirt bikes are definitely good for the T levels :)

    TRT

Thanks. From when I got serious about making changes, it was roughly three months to get from 254 ng/dL to 727 ng/dL

    TRT

I haven't had a chance to read the thread, but wanted to respond real quick. I'm 45. Got tested a couple years ago, pretty consistently between 200-250. Doc wanted to put me on TRT. I was "meh" on the idea, for a number of reasons. Went and saw a doc that focused on hormone health, and did...

What happens when a gun manufacturing company dies?

Well, I did a cursory search for various parts that I suppose are wear items on a bolt gun (firing pin/extractor/trigger spring) and there's pretty much nada. Suppose I'll just hunt with it until something dies 🤷 Appreciate everyone's thoughts. Bummer to see a cool company die.

What happens when a gun manufacturing company dies?

Fair point. That's interesting. So in reality a lot of rifles are "shoot them till they die and then move on" situations regardless.

What happens when a gun manufacturing company dies?

Honestly I've never had anything break on a bolt action ever. But my bolt action experience had mostly been "hunting season in a couple months, let's go to the range and shoot from 100 to 500 a few times And then go fill some tags". So I don't know what to be concerned about honestly, and I'm...

What happens when a gun manufacturing company dies?

Saw a thread a while back somewhere about a guy in the same boat with a Marlin X7. Loved the gun but can't shoot it anymore due to one small piece that broke in the bolt.

What happens when a gun manufacturing company dies?

Doesn't seem to be much aftermarket support. Few things here and there is all I could find. It's a bummer. I like the rifle and I've got some minor sentimental attachment to it (It's the rifle I used to get back into hunting a few years back and the rifle I carried when teaching my two oldest...

What happens when a gun manufacturing company dies?

Wasn't sure where to post this, but curious just the same. I don't really have the breadth of experience or context to make a judgment on this but thought the notion was interesting, so thought I'd offer it up for discussion; I have a T/C venture weather shield in 7mm-08. Didn't know a ton...

    Longevity of the 7mm-08?

We have three in our family. I like hunting with it because they're light, handy sized rifles, low recoil, relatively quiet with low muzzle blast (no need for a brake or a can) my wife and kids love the low recoil. Flat shooting, accurate, deer to 600, elk to 400 decisively. I think it's more...

7mm-08 vs. 6.5 PRC for muleys

I'm a pretty big 7mm-08 fan. My primary hunting rifle is 7-08 and that's what I bought for my two oldest boys as they each started hunting. Versatile, and theirs something enjoyable about underrated cartridges that missed the hype train. Ammo is easy to find around me. 6.5 PRC looks interesting...
