I am surprised you guys don't have issues with spotty satellite reception on your phones hunting out west. If cellphone GPS receivers are so good, why do they still sell the Garmin eTrex, Montana, and other GPS handhelds? I always assumed it was because the GPS reception is better on those...
Certainly not out of the realm of possibility. But I have been hunting the same general area for the past 6-7 years. I never loose satellite coverage with my inReach, and, in a certain portion of the area, I always loose satellite coverage on my Android phone, as does my buddy who has a...
I agree. I just don't know exactly how to verify that it will work with OnX. It should as it is just receiving the GPS signal and transferring it to the phone. I may have to do an Amazon order/test/return.
Anyone know of a backcountry-friendly external GPS receiver that can boost an Android phone's GPS reception? They make lots of them for cars, but I can't find one suitable for the woods. The goal is to increase GPS capability of the phone so that I can use OnX more consistently. I can...
Nobody, hunh? With as many gearheads as are on Rokslide, I am surprised no one has snagged one of these and done a review yet. I ended up going with a SG COL 4800, so I am not quite as interested, but still be good to know how they stack up.
Over the past few months I have online shopped pretty hard for a pack, binos, and a couple other miscellaneous items. I have emailed customer service of multiple (probably 12-15) hunting gear manufacturers asking specifically if they offer a military veteran discount. Every single one has...
Yeah, I have been losing confidence in some of these larger companies' customer service reps. I seem to be able to find out more information on their products than they can. This MIJ vs MIC issue with Burris and it also recently happened to me with Leupold on a scope rail question. They told...
Oof, that's a pretty brutal-honest review from Formidilosus - enough to steer me away from the springbok. Although, I think someone mentioned in the thread the possibility of purchasing the springbok legs with the javelin attachment head. I think that might work. I have asked Spartan if they...
Interested to hear from you @strattonje2020 on the non-migrating, "locking" zippers. Sounds like zipper voodoo to me, but if they are functional, I think it'd be awesome.
To follow up, if anyone ever has the opportunity to care about this subject, contrary to the statement from Leupold, their one-piece Backcountry scope rail model #171342, does indeed fit a Marlin MR-7 .30-06 perfectly.
I have sleuthed the interwebs fairly well, I think, including a question/response from Leupold Cust. Service. Trying to find the subject scope mount. A single-piece (weaver/picatinny preferred, but at this point I'm no longer picky) scope base that fits a long action, right hand, Marlin MR-7...
