    Do you wash your clothes?

New? Yes. I wash my gear by season... early/lighter stuff a week before opening day and then hang them in the sun to air dry. Then it's into a sealed tote. Base layers I'll rewash as needed depending on sweat and repeated use. As I get into the season the mid and outer layers have had their...

    What's your favorite caliber?

.308 in a Remington 760 and 150 gr Core-Lokts. 1963 edition rifle my dad gave to me and it's shot those same bullets as well as anything all these years. Scope upgrades over the years and I refinished the wood last winter. Most fun: Any flintlock.

    Pant for Business Casual

I love the Sitka Territory pants. A wash or two quiets them down and they are just so comfortable that they are no my go-to pants for anything 'social' when the 'rules' or the wife refuses to allow me to wear shorts or my Duluth's.

    PA Elk License

0 for 15 years trying and I put in for all seasons. Odds are ridiculously tough.

    Electronic hearing protection brands

Disclosure: I have really bad hearing, about 90%+ loss in both ears from multiple issues. I tried the Tetra molded version. Absolutely not good for me. In any way. The sound distortion was really bad. I could not hear my wife on the opposite side of the table, less than four feet away. TV...

    Sitka timberline fit

I noted in another post, I'm a L or 34 in all Sitka pants but with the Timberlines, I went 35 to add a heavy base layer, just way more comfortable up-sizing. I say go up one size if you can get them. I'm 6'2 190.

Late season pant - Timberline vs Fjallraven Vidda Pro

I am 6'2 190 and normally a large or 34 in all pants. For the Timberlines I went with a 35 in the 2022 version. I felt the crotch and overall fit was better to go with the 35, especially for late season and a heavy merino base layer.

    Salewa Boot question

I got a pair of Mountain Trainer 2s this year and I have a borderline wide foot, some brands I need a wide, others a medium. I have plenty of toe box space and honestly should tighten it up more but depending on sock thickness, I can get a great fit. I really like them.

Traverse cold weather hoody vs Wool hoody

I have a CWH and love it with the right mix of base layers. Keep it/buy another and just wear the most appropriate base layer with it. Before I bought a Fanatic jacket, the CWH was my insulation layer under my Stratus and over a heavy weight Merino top. The face mask and hood are heavier than...

    New jetstream fit

6'2 190 ish. While a Large fits, it's tight in the under arm area and won't layer well for me. A Large-Tall is better but the XL is what I would buy so that I could layer and not feel any constrictions in either under arm or arm length. I prefer a most athletic fit but the XL is just better...

    SITKA - Subalpine Whitetail

^ ^ x2. I have EV2 and have had mature deer within 10 yards of me, staring straight thru me at ground level... I have a double stand sitting at the base of a large tree and down slope overlooking a couple acres of power line low land/swamp. I am over 20 feet in elevation over the base of the...

New FHF FOB bino harness/my thoughts

Very pleased with my FOB. Previous experience was with either cheap harnesses provided with binos or cheaper versions that were limited in function and/or crappy and aggravating straps. I opted to attach directly to my backpack and did not use the extra clips as it made no sense to me, I...

2nd or 3rd gen Tacoma questions

Tell my dealer and bank that :) or don't, actually. But as of late-May that's the numbers I was floated.

2nd or 3rd gen Tacoma questions

I bought a 2008 with 5k miles on it in 2009. TRD Sport 5 foot bed. Stock everything. I added a Ranch cap for $1,200 which was awesome for hunting purposes. I loved that truck. I wore out all four ball joints by driving across ditches and rutted corn fields setting up geese layouts and...

    Post Covid Brain Fog

^^^ That's awesome, in some ways LOL. My sense of smell seems to get better the worse my hearing has gotten and I'm about 95% deaf now in both ears. My wife hates the smell thing because I'm worse than the dog, I think, about picking up scents. Makes her crazy.

    Post Covid Brain Fog

COVID and the more than 1.1 million Americans who died from it (and the real number is much higher), is/was real. Denial does not change fact. I deal with disease reporting in public health every day. I had COVID in May of 2022 and three miserable days of headaches and alternating hot/cold...

Sitka Core Light weight hoody or Equinox hoodie is better?

Get the lightweight definitely as it's a base layer for about all seasons depending on how you layer. The Equinox, and I assume you mean the new bug-proof one not the older heavy weight, could be layered but I would get a standard lightweight base T either short or long sleeve for under the...

SITKA Mountain EVO jacket, Review **Updated 9/20/23**

^^^ Carter, I found that the Large-Tall was a better underarm fit with the Ambient under it, otherwise it was tight and compressed and no way I would be comfortable in a Large for that long. While the sleeve length is a bit much without the Ambient under it, it's a fair trade off when the XL...
