How much does grain weight affect trajectory

This is all interesting. Does this mean that your average Archer, who shoots 3-D and hunts, doesn’t mess with his bow sight very much if you’re only going 50 to 70 grains difference, but keeping the same diameter arrow?

How much does grain weight affect trajectory

I’ve been shooting 340 spine 100 gr tipped arrows out of my 61-62 lb bow. They weigh 412 grains each. I use my Last Chance scale to weigh things. I just built up some 300 spine with 4 fletch and 125 grain tips. These arrows weigh 465 grains each. I decided to see how these new arrows shot out of...

    Custom String-Cables

Catfish! His products are A1! His customer service is A1! He’s talked to me on the phone about all kinds of bow questions. Mike is a nice guy who’s there for the fellow archer and he stands behind his product. I had a new set cut a serving on a binary cable 2 months ago. He said to send them...

    Your go to Broadheads!?

Naw man that’s awesome. That’s the reason I’m going with the Grimm reapers. I’m going back to a style that I remember everyone shooting 20 years ago.

    Your go to Broadheads!?

Not fully sure but I’m thinking 3 blade 125 with a cutting diameter of 1 1/16”. They say they fly really well and they are tough as nails

    Your go to Broadheads!?

I don’t hunt elk or mulies but I’ve always been an expandable guy for whitetail. I am planning, after extensive research, to go with some Grim Reaper micro hades 125 grain this year. Last time I hunted with a fixed broadhead was in the 80s and I had Bear razor heads. I’m excited for the change.

Organizing my tackle need help identifying nock sizes

I’ve heard of this trick. I’ve never tried it cause I’ve never had to but I always wondered if you ran the risk of splitting the shaft out with too tight a fit?

Organizing my tackle need help identifying nock sizes

That seems to ring a bell. I think that maybe what they are and my friend had his archery shop years ago so they probably are old stock. Tell me more about the old carbon express nocks? I edited my original post a couple times, but I originally had in there about my yellow Easton nocks that...

Organizing my tackle need help identifying nock sizes

I have gold tip hunter XT arrows that I’m shooting with the factory .246 nocks that came with them. I’m getting a throat measurement of .115 with my micrometer. My string center serving measures .115 and they fit ideal. I have two different sets of gold tip .246 nocks that a friend gave me in...

Any love for Wasp heads these days

I wondered if it was a fad. There's so many to choose from but I kind of admire Wasp for still being around and American made after all these years. Their fixed lineup looks awesome. I see some of them didn’t fare so well in John Lusks tests but I’m not going to be shooting through a steel plate

Any love for Wasp heads these days

Years ago I had several friends who shot them but these days they are seldom talked about. American made but then again so are all the ones you hear mentioned constantly these days. Is Wasp still an awesome head?

    Hello folks new here

Same anymore. I don’t shoot. I do need to go sight in three rifles with new scopes though but I’ve needed to do that for over a year 😂. I hoard my ammo these days

    Hello folks new here

Hello from SW Iowa. I own plenty of guns but I’ve always enjoyed the bow and arrow since I was a kid. I’ll be 53 this month so I’ve been shooting since the early 80s. I’m moving here from archerytalk. I’ve had a few accounts on that site the last 25 years but it sure isn’t what it used to be. I...
