    Moose Hunt From A Treestand

Do you think bringing a tree saddle and climbing sticks would be worth while in northern Alberta? Fairly light setup at 10-12lbs

    Best gaiters for elk hunting

I have the kuiu katana gaiters and they are absolutely solid for elk season. Snow, rain, mud, briars etc. Only thing dry on a snow hunt for me is whats under those gaiters. I also run the kuiu scree gaiters in warmer weather. Keep all the junk out of your boots and they are not as hot.

    Southern Idaho Elk

So I am one of the lucky nonres hunters that drew an archery elk tag for Idaho. I do not want locations or tips on where to find elk. This is a networking post. I have been researching all that I can find and sending pm’s to a handful of individuals that have hunted the specific unit in years...

Anybody carry a fixed blade knife on their belt while hunting?

I keep an ESEE fixed blade attached to the bottom of my bino harness in its kydex sheath. Use it for skinning game, whittling sticks and just like having it to be honest. While hunting in South Africa I would try all the different rocks I would find as sharpening stones then let the PH test it...

    Long shots

Zebra at 511 yds and a small black bear at 407. Not to proud since both required follow up shots. Best ever experience was 3 consecutive shots on a steel plate at 1000yds with a group size of roughly 9”. Same gun used on the zebra and bear.

    Broadhead Choices

Grim reaper micro hades 125gr is my go to fixed blade. Killed a few critters including elk. Craziest performance was a 52 yard hard quartering to (barely could see rear hip but wasnt fully frontal) on a cow elk in idaho. Straight through the humerus bone, rib, top of heart, another rib and poked...

Sold Exo K3 4800 Ranger bag

Selling my K3 bag. Small hip belt size (I am a 30" waist and have a ton of extra when I tighten the belt. Could fit way bigger waist) includes the 4800 ranger green bag with lid, hip pouch and extra lumbar pad. This is a dec 2022 bag so right before the K4 packs were dropped. 24-25.5" frame...

Argali Rincon 2p vs Absaroka 4p

I run the absaroka 4 p with a half liner and stove. You could definitely fit 2 people in the half liner side but I just use it for solo hunts. In better weather or where there arent any bugs you could get 3 people in it with room for gear pretty nicely. I wanted the 2p tent to save some weight...
