I have owned numerous Sitka pieces for several years and cannot complain about any of them to the point of saying they're useless or of poor quality. Pricey? Yes. I only buy sale or discount when I can and even used items if I find what I want.
I would suggest looking at the Stratus jacket...
FHF harness.
Standard loadout: 10x or 12x bino; rangefinder; lens pen; wind check; folding knife; drivers license, bank card and hunting license in a small heavy-duty plastic zip pouch. Extra pouch on the bottom molle with rain cover and extra pair of glasses in a hard case.

South central PA and I'm surprised... mostly. It seems they're hanging on into March around here the last couple years. I think the latest pic I had in 2023 was March 4th or about that. I have come across a couple smaller beams that were all chewed to bits already, so some younger buck have...
Here is a totally non-expert chart of my findings in 2023 testing out a new Savage 110 Storm in 7-08. I purchased a lot of various brands and bullet weights, these were the top contenders. The Hornady ELD-M was reference, not fired.
In addition to these I fired 20 rounds each of Winchester...
I have a like-new, exceptionally lightly used pair of 12x50 Pro Guides which were bought for a 2023 elk hunt. Received them from Bass Pro in early September 2023. On the hunt, I pulled them from the harness case maybe four times...shot my bull at 8:15 AM opening day so very little outdoor use...
I have a few Sitka items, all in excellent+ condition. All kept in scent proof totes, non-smoking house. Please ask for additional photos/information
All prices to your door!
Ambient 100 hoodie, LARGE, Open Country = $175
- bought for 2023 elk hunt, never worn outside the house, taken in my...
"Toward the stand"? Snowy morning hunting squirrels and the blue sky was awesome just happened to be looking at one of my stands that sits some 20 feet elevation over a food plot. And from the ground nearby, love early morning after a snow fall.
Growing up or was a 1950s era Western Field bolt action. 410 full choke that is still a light fast and deadly squirrel gun. I also liked the little Glenfield .22 bolt action my dad bought when I turned 6 years old. It's still going but with a new fixed 4x32 scope and a friend has been using it...
6'2 190 ish, athletic, chest 42" 16.5 neck/34 arms generally in dress shirts
L in the Ambient
L in the Traverse but the arm pits are snug (only tried these on, didn't but one as I don't need it)
LT in the Evo as a L is too tight under the arms with much of anything layered. The Ambient layers...
I have a .54 Renegade, great shape, was supposedly never shot when I bought it two years ago. Excellent bore and overall condition. I fired about 20 rounds through it, very accurate with round balls, which I prefer. I will include all the mini-balls/maxis I have as well. PM me if you're curious.
I got a pair of the Makra II last summer and used them to pack out about 2.5 miles over relatively level but very rocky terrain. They took some time to break in and had me wondering if I should keep them or not. I go them from GoHunt and followed the size guide per one of their staff that had...
I have a Jason/factory lid from a 2008 Tacoma, short-bed. Dark blue. I got the truck with 5,000 miles on it and it had the lid from the factory. About a year later I got a cap to fit more duck/goose gear and made deer hunting with my friend a lot easier on week-long trips. Still have it for...
150 Core-Lokt. My 760 Remington loves them and that rifle is 60 plus years old. 18 inch barrel and as accurate now as it was when I was taught to shoot it in the late 70s. She hates 180s and 150 pointed soft points are all my dad or I ever used in it.
if you hunt in the open air, not in a blind, then the Jetstream will do you a bit better in precipitation. The outer material will resist water better longer. Beyond that, I see no need for it. The Stratus fits as well, is just a windproof, and is measurably quieter. And if you like hood...
I have the heavy weight hoody, fanatic hoody and ambient 100 hoody. For what you're looking to do I'd go with the ambient 100 hoody. You could actually wear one and pack the other and add per situation.
