Tikka KRG bravo scope change maybe

I have actually thought about buying a 6.5 prc and doing exactly that!

Tikka KRG bravo scope change maybe

Agreed. I worry that I normally like a little more power on the top end. Might try it and put a couple hungered rounds through it at longer range and see how I feel about it then. Or maybe just suck it up and carry the 9oz extra which isn’t much.

Tikka KRG bravo scope change maybe

Looking for thoughts on this. I have a Tikka T3X SS 6.5 Creedmoor in a KRG Bravo. Currently wearing a Nightforce SHV 4-14 F1. Weight is 9lb 14oz. I’m looking at saving a bit of weight because where I elk hunt I do 10miles or more a day. I love the stock though. I have a SWFA 6x I’m thinking...

6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game

I used 140 btsp interlocks in a 270 for years when I first started hunting. No plastic tips existed back then. When I look back it was one of the fastest killing bullets I ever used. Seemed perfect for that cartridge. I was hopefull the 100’s in the 243 would be similar.

6mm /.243 hunting success on Big Game

Thanks for the post. I've been curious how these work because you can buy the factory ammo relatively cheap. Currently loading 95gr BT's which I know work well but looking for a 243 factory ammo option that works in a 1:10 twist and also performs well. It's tough to keep up to all the reloading...

Same thread as the screws for the recoil pad. I used one of those on mine.

Soooo I’m thinking about .243- few questions

That gets me out to 600 yards given the elevation I'm at! Thanks

Soooo I’m thinking about .243- few questions

What’s the minimum velocity for the 95gr ballistic tip and consistent upset? I use a lot of them but haven’t stretched it out on animals with it as of yet.

    6.5 prc vs 7mm-08 for 18”-20” barrel

Unfortunately can’t get a suppressor up here in Canada so I don’t love barrels shorter than 22” and dislike muzzle brakes even more. I just went through the paces of deciding on adding a 6.5 prc and instead bought another 6.5 Creedmoor. I just can’t see enough in the PRC for what I do here in...

    6.5 prc vs 7mm-08 for 18”-20” barrel

    I get 2845 out of a 22” barrel 7mm-08 with 140 accubonds. 2790 with 150 eldx.

Buying one more rifle and struggling

Well that’s always an option. At the end of it I liked that ammo was simple, recoil is less and I will know the ballistics of these rifles by memory if needed. Easy to stock up on ammo and reloading components like this.

Buying one more rifle and struggling

Made my decision today and ended up buying another T3X SS 6.5 Creedmoor. I could not find enough in the PRC to justify it. More powder, more recoil and not enough gained. Working on which scope to mount. I have a shv F1 or a Bushnell LRTSi 4.5 -18. Want to put it in sports match T084’s. The...

Buying one more rifle and struggling

I’ve thought of doing this as well. Not sure other than how nice it would be to shoot if it would get me what the prc will. Also it would take me more than a few months to get the barrel and get it assembled. I like my new rifles to begin in January after the season is over so I can get plenty...

Buying one more rifle and struggling

My current superlite is already 24”. Can’t get a suppressor up here so no reason to chop it. I get 2745 average with my 147 loads. Gets me out past 800 yards at these elevations. I can’t say for sure that I could shoot the PRC as well as I do the Creedmoor but I believe it would be close. I...

Buying one more rifle and struggling

I thought I had a plan this year and was going to add another 6.5 Creedmoor and go all in on that cartridge. I have lots of bullets, 143 eldx, 147 eldm, 130 tmk. Currently shooting 147’s in my tikka super light but I’m almost out. No complaints with that load in the Creedmoor and I have full...

6.5 Creedmoor/260 for Deer, Elk, and whatever else.....

Lot's keep talking about the 130 TMK. Is it that much better than the 143 eldx or 147 eldm which I am currently using?
