I also never hunt with a clean bore. Usually try and get at least a few shots down the tube after cleaning and before heading out on a trip. I have a 100 yard range at my house and every once in a while I will grab a rifle and go take a single shot with it to see what it does just to see. I...
Usually a sandwich of some sorts, almonds, and plenty of jerky since my buddies always want some too. Also granola bars and candy bars even when it’s hot out. Not pretty when you open the package but still good. Some days I just take the jerky, nuts and water as I usually don’t eat that much...
New box of Lapua 6mm CM brass. Small Rifle Primer Pocket. Opened to verify count and condition. Was going to use for an upcoming build but going a different direction. $100 Shipped.
I have used baking soda and water before with some success shaking it around and rinsing. I agree with what was said above about Platypus, never had issues with those.
I do the same thing! I order the same plates every time to avoid being disappointed and I have learned to do the same at gun shops - Get the Tikka, you won’t be disappointed!
I also use Tactacam. I haven’t tried other cellular cameras but did a bunch of research a couple years ago before I got them. They have worked great so far, no reason for me to change!
I need a different set of mods! Would really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction of the user who has these.
Also, bump for an awesome bow!!
I have since sold my Tikka Veil 6.5 PRC barrel but I checked my notes for the load I had settled on. 57.5 grains of N565, 143 ELD-X, .010” off lands (3.005” COAL to tip/2.380” to Ogive) Lapua brass and gm210m primers gave me 2900 FPS on the dot and very very tight groups. I went further but...
I have a 14x16 wall tent with stove and it’s awesome for longer trips and 2+ people but not fun to set up and take down. Last year I got the 10x14 Kodiak and it’s been awesome for shorter trips and a couple guys. Can be set up and taken down in damn near 10 minutes. Nice to have both options...
The VG2 stock that I got had no issues and was inletted perfect. My only complaint was the hollow sound but I removed the pad and filled it with spray foam which helped a lot. Pretty easy mod just make sure you get the low expansion foam so it doesn’t expand and crack the carbon. Super...
I’m a huge fan of Tikka’s and prefer them but Howa’s are pretty solid. Rebarreled a Howa that I had for years from 7 Rem to 7 PRC, put a Timney in it and and put it in a VG2. Awesome rifle that shoots great. My dad has pretty much adopted it, he loves it.
