Generally speaking, sticking with the original equipment is always best. If you need wifi, honeywell and other companies make wifi connection boards that interface with the original thermostat/heat pump. Just a thought / plan B option
And i dont see a way to fix CPW, because even if all the residents woke up to these facts and stopped buying tags they would have no problem selling all the tags to non-residents for even more money.
This is what all the $8/$10 application fees add up too. CPW doesn't care if anyone gets a tag or not. They figured out that the chance to draw a tag is worth more than the actual tag.
I used 140/160 handloaded accubonds for years with reliable accuracy and performance, but the Trophy grade has gotten crazy expensive. I've handloaded the 140 TTSX and that works well for elk, but maybe slightly destructive for pronghorn. As mentioned Barnes factory stuff should be good to go...
I stopped donating $8 this year. You have better odds playing the powerball. What really annoys me is paying $8 to not draw the first draw, then seeing a few tags on the secondary draw lists that I put in for already. If people turn tags in or don't pay for them they go on the secondary draw...
I used a steripen for years in Colorado. Never got sick. I would just wipe the rim/ threads off, and try to never get the cap wet while filling. Then run the UV. It did always kinda bother me dipping the bottle in the creek. Sometimes I would let it dry in the sun before UV, or run the UV...
When I messed around with a 162 eldx the COL was around 3.295". Maybe once you settle on powder charge, shoot 2 shot tests of different seating depths around .005" apart.
I've switched to hammer bullets. I used to shoot the 140/160 accubonds, or 140ttsx. The hammers blow everything else away accuracy wise, and are always in stock. Screw Nosler for not selling components for 3 years. The hammers are better and about the same price since nosler's prices went...
I think people are tired of giving CPW all kinds of money for the draw and not getting anything out of it. Also the fact that our money will be spent on reintroducing wolves after the worst winterkill in decades. I spent around $300 this year to get nothing but points and a 3rd Choice cow tag...
Drew a muzzy pronghorn doe tag. I hunt with a T/C renegade 50 cal flintlock. Does anyone have experience taking a flintlock shot on pronghorn? Wondering if the delay / pan flash results in them taking off while shooting. I've killed a bull w/flintlock and some pronghorn w/rifles, but is this...
I've been thinking we should organize a large group of a few hundred hunters to do a drive from north park eastward. The wolves don't know where the continental divide is, but once they go up and over and find the stupid easy pray in RMNP , they wouldn't leave.
