FWIW my shop has recommended the Elite black (blackout) as the most durable, toughest cerakote finish.
Sniper Grey gets my vote from the colors you mentioned.
I’ve been super happy with the performance of the Elite offerings personally and cerakote will send you free samples (up to 5 I think?)...
Beautiful! I’m inspired. My dad would love something like this and I’d enjoy the challenge. 200+ hours is daunting though and I don’t think I’d do it any quicker than you could!!!
I agree with several others. 1) Tikka would be my choice, hands down. 2) I would not choose a Christiansen. 3) get the 6.5, I love the SAUM but you would need to plan to load for it and I’d recommend sourcing brass before buying a rifle if you go that route. Tikka in 6.5 will be pretty...
+1 for this, you can also call the Berger bullet guys, they’ve been incredibly responsive, knowledgeable and helpful over the phone. Wealth of knowledge there.
