Hawkins told me/warned me that their hybrid “low” was more like a mid.
I wouldn’t call it very low but I also wouldn’t go any lower or my fat fingers will pinch between bolt and scope.
Yeah, my next step is to epoxy a mount for the Spartan bipod. Should shave a few ounces! Didn’t mean to derail though. I’d get the ATACR but if ZCO is in the budget that could be cool too!
I agree with several others, if ZCO is in the running that’s pretty cool. For my 7 PRC I went with the ATACR 4-16, that’s a good 2nd option and my dog liked it.

I went with 20” Sendero, just got to shoot it a little but it’s very promising. Shot at 387,576 and 752 with 180eldm.
More official testing is in order for groups and chrono once barrel normalizes. Velocities were around 2700 unofficially fwiw, no chrono but with AB custom drag model that’s what...
Some mentioned 300wsm, I like that and one guy mentioned 7PRC, I’d also consider 300PRC. They both have Hornady backing them, both have SAAMI support and in my opinion we’ve needed non-belted 7 rem mag and 300wm for a long time and that’s pretty close to what they are.
I got one for a build (not for hunting) and it seems decent for the money. I haven’t shot it yet because I haven’t finished the build so my experience is limited but I’m happy to answer any questions if I’m able.
Supposedly longer barrel life and easier/better load development. I don’t have a GT but shoot with guys that like it. I’m building a 6 dasher for same reason.
11lbs with bipod and optic is pretty decent in my book!
You could get a carbon grip from MDT or XLR but I suspect you’ll pay 150-200 bucks and be lucky to drop an ounce? I’m interested in other peoples ideas…
What bipod are you running?
