    Motorola Defy Satellite Link

This is $150 with a free year of Skylo satellite access. I pay way more than that for my Zoleo, which I’ve been pleased with. Anyone try this out yet or know anything about it? https://www.rei.com/product/227381/motorola-defy-satellite-link

    MSR Guardian Questions

If you have an MSR dromlite, the threads match right up to the bottom. I use a Hyperflow and I remove the barbed bite valve from the outlet hose on my bladder and stick it on the nipple on the filter. I imagine you’d be doing the same with that. The Guardian backflushes itself when pumping...

    Good but inexpensive socks

Absolutely right. They're insanely liberal (literally insane) but their socks are the best and this is one instance where I'll buy a product knowing there's a 400# man dressed as a woman with purple hair who hates me, making it.

    Good but inexpensive socks

i threw everything except darn tough out. They far outlasted the Costco socks. It’s the only brand I will buy Their guarantee is no joke, I’ve used it a few times.

    Good but inexpensive socks

The Costco ones have a crazy good value proposition. Btw cheap good socks are like cheap good condoms.

    WTB Kids Backpack

REI has kid’s packs. Otherwise you’re looking at women’s stuff or lollipop guild gear.

    Sandals, what are you wearing?

Birkenstock Arizona EVA. Sizing is comically wrong. I wear a 47 in everything, but a 44 in them. Very light, pack them in as camp shoes.

    Freeze dried…..?

Look at Peak Refuel. I’m very mindful of sodium intake. Their stuff isn’t as salty as the others, and the taste is awesome. You won’t escape the soft serve, inherent with backpacking meals, though.

    Lowa tibet gtx sizing

The Renegade is way smaller than a same size Tibet. I had both in 12W and the Tibet felt a whole size bigger.

Tajikistan in November: Am I making a bad call.

I’ve had Zamberlan winter insoles in my Ferratas (Hanwag insoles are a joke) in the snow here in the Sierra and after a few hours (15-25 deg), I could feel the cold start to sneak in. I have really bad circulation, though. They’re awesome light given how stuff they are and the tube midsole is...

    Grakksaw boot dryer reviews?

My blower is an old DUB185Z. I run it on the lowest setting, which is controlled by a dial that mechanically limits trigger depression. Batteries are no bigger than a 5.0, since they only use the new beefy cells on the new 40V platform. I haven’t timed it, but it’s been effective and I don’t...

If not Danner, then what? (high quality light, non-insul. sneaker-boot w/ high cuff)

I thought my domestic Danners were crap too. Never tried import. Was just curious how others saw them

Convince me Crispi makes a top quality boot ...

You tell me. They're probably a shelf or two higher than Salewa, but aren't EBT eligible.

    Grakksaw boot dryer reviews?

I use a Makita blower (trigger held down with a trigger clamp) with PVC fittings and sprinkler pipe. Doesn’t take long at all to dry my boots out.

    Zamberlan vs lowa

Zamberlan leather is much thicker than Lowa, across all models I’ve ever owned (quite a few). Lowa resole service is also done in house in Germany and they come back looking great. Takes like 4 months. Zamberlan refers you to third party cobblers. I wasn’t impressed with what I got back, though...

Just get Walmart boots if you’re gonna cheap out. 😂

    Zamberlan 1213

They look identical to the 996 and 1996, but with the tongue gussets being fabric rather than leather, and the obvious variance in color. Tons of reviews on those are available. I had some 996s, they were great boots! Fit close to Keen for length.
