Good point about the eye relief. I’ve been in awkward shooting positions where more eye relief would’ve made a shot easier, especially when wearing glasses. -

I’m planning a 300wsm hunting rifle (Tikka of course) and have pretty much settled on a Trijicon Credo 2.5-15x56. Just from reading, seems the Credo a great option if you are ok with SFP. I’ve not seen a comparison between the 56 and the 42. Opinions/experiences? Really I’m looking for some... -
300 AAC BLK Subsonic
I used these, last one I shot dropped after turning and taking one step. No exit wound, upon processing, found the bullet embedded on the inside of the opposite shoulder blade.- duffman

300 BLK in AR
I’ve yet to take a shot over 200 with 300Blk. I usually take it when I’ll be taking shorter shots, hold for subsonics since it’s within 100 yards. I personally would dial past 200 with supers if I had the time. Less for me to screw up in the moment. -

I like hunting with subs (with appropriate bullets), but I approach it more like a powerful crossbow, meaning I’m really going for a high percentage double lung where I can minimize accidentally hitting a shoulder, and as broadside as possible to ensure pass-through. Discreet Ballistics has a subsonic expander. Lehigh has some interesting options but I’ve never tried them. -
AR hunters
Power to size/weight ratio and silencer efficiency. I admit the first is subjective. I like ARs and hunting with them, but lately I like deer hunting with my CZ 527 more, same cartridge. -

Yes, mostly with 62gr TTSX’s. Have mostly done neck shots and they’ve all dropped within sight. They’re fun but I definitely prefer bolt guns now. Seems more efficient overall, and AR’s are louder with a silencer. -

What caused the Rokslide shift to smallest caliber and cartridges?
I think increased hit probability factors, I mean it’s one of the reasons why .308 was basically replaced by 6.5cm in matches a while back. And you can see the trend continuing with 6mms replacing the 6.5’s. It’s funny how stuff like .243 and 6.5 swede had it right. Also kinda reminds me of... -
