I second this option. I have been considering options for a 300WSM build I bought a T3x for as well. I came to the conclusion that for the money, prefits don't make sense for me. End up with a better barrel for less or the same $.

Yes this and others. Wondered if it was POI shift people were complaining about and this recommendation is to mitigate that? Only other thing I could think of other than enough material for threads.
I dunno, I think this would give credibility to that silencers are “in common use” thereby making it easier to take them off NFA. But they are accustomed to having their cake and eating it too.
I’ve wondered this as well. For instance I’ve heard light palma is recommended as lightest contour. I’m assuming it’s to have enough material for good threads/shoulder, but if you have the muzzle flared/stepped up, does it really matter?
I’ve actually found the opposite to be true: hunting is when I find the most utility from using a silencer, for all the reasons stated by others already. The only time I don’t like using one is in a match or extended shooting w/ a precision rifle.
