Winchester has had a poor track record in recent years with primers fwiw. Proceed with caution.
If a primer change is causing issues with your load your probably on the heels of pressure to begin with. If I’m switching I just do a few and see, but I’m also not .2 grains from pressure.
Yea I wouldn’t put it up there with mountain shooting but it’s not a square range match. Somewhere in between. WI in that area is similar, rolling hills, no idea where they are holding that match though.
What magnification are you setting it at? I tend to prefer setting it at something that I can barely make out the subtensions at.
Miles to matches had a good podcast on setting diopter, I can’t remember which one though.
So it’s only going off station pressure and not an altitude?
Maybe I’m simple but I can go to a spot and guesstimate a decent density altitude. I really am not up to date on station pressure as it relates to altitude at all.
Nx8 or atacr really comes down to parralax, imo. Nx8 parralax and diopter are finicky. Especially when you turn them way up. Mirage and atmospherics can cause some distortion too. Setting diopter to be optimal on an nx8 takes some finesse. The atacr is less finicky, easier to really get...
Rolling hills and that area, not typical Midwest AG.
Pretty confined on the area so there’s normally a few targets in view. Match I shot was heavy on the tripod and logs.
This is the first year for the WI match.
I am working on trying to make the Iowa match work along with the WI. Probably will only do those two 2 days this year. I can’t justify 8 hours of driving for a one day to Iowa.
If I can make it we should definitely make a Rokslide squad.
It’s just another set of threads you have to deal with.
I have no issues with Tbac cb, I’m barrels into the cb mounts without an issue. Downside is buying more brakes, but I have barrels with 1/2, 5/8 and 3/4 threads that I can use the same suppressor on without taking anything off the...
That knife shape is about perfect for cutting up animals. Little more belly would be my preference, but it looks nice. Blaze orange scales and some finger scallops for a pinch grip and it’s perfect.
Lt weight small northern hunter is about the perfect shape. Unfortunately you can’t find...
Do yourself a favor and buy a crossbow, go 2 weeks earlier.
You hunted during the most difficult time to hunt successfully. Late in the week gun deer on public land is a recipe for skittish deer, that are likely hunkered up in stuff so thick you won’t see them till your on top of them.
I’m not home to look but I believe .247. Maybe smaller. I normally size .004 under and mandrel up with a 2 thou under decapping mandrel with all my sac dies.
I’ll confirm when I get home tomorrow
