And the newer factory rifles have more consistent chambers. If I had a 7MM Mag I would not get a PRC. I did not have any .284's so I am likeing the7mm PRC.
A big no on elk! My kids used them on deer and antelope and there was not much left on the ones recovered. Go NAB 125 for elk, in my rifles they shot the same with Varget and H335.
It would be 3-trips for me. Hang the meat in the shade and as long as it gets down in the 40's at night it will not spoil.
3-5 miles where I hunt elk is 1500-2500 vertical feet climb. It is doable, but not desirable. Good luck.
They raid my property weekly! I never see them but tracks everywhere, a destroyed shed, steeling containers. We always see signs but the oak brush is so thick they would be hard to glass. Nearest entry point from the public side is Dalton Campground. This year seems to be more than normal.
