I haven't had any issues to date. I don't shoot it a ton for recreation. I'll shoot it in preparation for deer seasons or a bear hunt and occasionally in between. My eyes are getting worse as I get older and I went with the VX5 for the best possible glass at the low light primetime.
I have a Leupold VX5HD 1-5x24 on my 45-70. It's a great scope and the magnification/physical size of the scope are great in proportion to the capabilities/handling of the gun. I've used that same scope on multiple of my "200 yards and less" guns.
Bergara or CVA Cascade. I have two Cascades and a Bergara Stalker. The Stalker is the Premier line but I have no doubt the B14 is quality. Don’t sleep on the Cascade though for your price range. You probably know, but CVA is tied in with Bergara. All the Bergara products I have shoot lights...
