V1 Uncompagre puffy jacket in size medium. Good condition and only used casual wear.
You can see from the photos a small tear in the underarm and a stain along the front pockets from some turkey frying that I shouldn’t have done in my puffy.
$80 TYD lower 48.
Barely used women’s hunting jacket and pants both camo in size Large. Well insulated and water resistant. The pants have removable suspenders. Selling because my wife hasn’t used them in years.
$60 tyd
I will chime in here keeping in mind that I have significantly less kills than many of the other contributors. I spend about 3-5 range days a year primarily to prepare for a hunt. I previously had been using a 3-9 Vortex and holding over using their BDC reticle. As I’ve been hunting bigger...
My 30-06 T3 likes the 150gr federal blue box for shooting practice. It shoots the 150 gr TTSX even better for hunting. This year I'm trying the 175 gr VOR-TX LR factory ammo to get some more energy at longer distances with better BCs. They shoot well.
The only thing my Tikka hasn't liked is...
I’ve got a Tikka with a SHV 3-10x42 and am running the Talley extra lows. I bought the lows originally and decided to see if the extra lows would fit and they did. Just barely though.
If you’re interested in the 30mm lows let me know.
I manned up an ordered the SHV 3-10x42 with the MOAR illuminated reticle. The review and look at the reticle in this article sealed the deal for me https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/shv-3-10x42-riflescope/#comment-238476 I also ordered the Talley low scope rings. I will probably print out a...
So... If I was to pony up another ~$200 over my original budget I could get the SHV 3-10x42 or Z3 3-10x42.
It seems the Nightforce wins in durability and dialing. Swaro wins in weight and optical quality. I think with the BRX-heavy reticle I could get away without dialing to fit my needs. The...
That's a sweet deal on the Razor. They're $523 on Amazon right now which is better than any pro deal that I've been able to find. Have you used either of them yet?
Replying to the BDC comments, I'll have to spend some time tonight playing with a calculator and 100 yard zero. I didn't realize...
Do you have the 40 or 50mm? I'm sure it is better glass than my current setup, but it didn't look very clear or bright at 10x compared with other options I was looking through. Maybe just my eyes? The weight on the 50 impressive.
Yes, the BDC on my Diamondback 3-9 is accurate and works well for me out to 400. At that point I think a BDC reticle is ineffective. Drop on my bullet at 400 is 19" and at 500 it is 39" with 200 yard zero.
If I had an animal at 450 I would have to hold somewhere between those crosshairs and...
Wow, thanks for all the replies. I didn't get a chance to look through the 2-10 VX5 the other day because it was sold out. Hopefully Sportsman's will get one in stock soon so I can take a look. I didn't see the 2-10 model on sale on SWFA, only the 3-15.
I'll do some research on the Tract. Its...
I'm a little concerned about the FOV for hunting dark Oregon timber. I didn't care for the 3.5-10 VX3i, I would think 4.5 would be even worse. I sent you an email.
I'm looking for help choosing a new scope for my Tikka T3 Lite in 30-06 shooting 150gr Barnes TTSX. I use it primarily for big game hunting out to 500 yards with the potential for a follow up shot a bit further. Currently it has a Vortex Diamondback 3-9x40 and I have been reaching out to 400...
I will be in forested area with some large rock outcroppings. There should be either rocks or trees that I can get shelter from the wind in. I plan to pay good attention to the wind direction and possibly bring one of the open edges of the tarp into the outer pole to close it off even more.
That Trail Designs Sidewinder looks sweet. Much lighter and more packable than the Solo Stove. That is my first choice now. It would be sweet to boil unlimited amounts of snow for drinking water with wood fuel. No hikes down off the ridges to the streams.
I plan on going 5 miles in max since...
No bivy.
I’ve set up the DST like the second post in this thread with one end closed. SO DST tarp pitches
I’m pretty sure it would do a good job of shedding snow and blocking wind. I’ve slept down to 10* on snow before with my sleep system in a tent and been comfy. I picked up a ZLite foam...
