MR popup vs badlands ascent vs SG Kiowa

I have a Badlands Clutch and this year got a MR Pop UP 28. I wanted something less bulky for day hunting but with the ability to pack meat. The Pop-up extened frame & load shelf worked great, got the buck out in two trips:

Question for guys with Seek Outside Packs

I’ve been running a SO 6300 since 2015 with no lumbar pad. Works awesome for me. No belt slip even under heavy load. I think it depends on your back shape.... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Optics for goat hunt early sep bc

Your binos are already top of the line, and if the goats are there it usually isn't hard to spot them until it snows. The spotting scope you have will definitely work, but going to the 65mm will cut weight. The Swaro scope might help you ID billy vs nanny from farther away. I would make sure I...

NEW BRUNSWICK BEAR HUNT THIS MAY !

If the fixed heads fly true use those. Better chance of an exit with a fixed head and sometimes bears don't bleed much. If however you get better flight from the mechanicals then go with them. Bears are thin skinned (compared to say a moose). Wait for a broadside or quartering away shot.

    Leh in BC for sheep

Dreebs - you missed the lowest odds sheep hunts, the Region 6 thinhorns. They were in February. I'd be putting in for one of the 3/4 Cali draws as they are lower odds than say Kamloops Lake, Phillips Creek, Spences Bridge. If you don't pull one of those head up north for OTC tag on Stone's...

Family road trip BC to AK, recommend some stops along the way

Part way up highway 37, at Mesiadian Junction you can take a side tour into Hyder Alaska. I think its about 45 minutes. There is a small camp ground called Camp Run a Muck. Leave your trailer there and drive up to the Salmon Glacier - it's beautiful. In Hyder there is a small resturant...

Counting growth rings with a spotter

Blockcarver hit the nail on the head. I only run a Bash & Lomb Elite 15-45x60 and generally had to be 200-300 yards to age sheep. One time in a light misting rain I could age an 8 yr old ram at 600 yards - the annuli appeared to have been drawn on with a sharpie. Another time on a ram at only...

    Cougar, Lynx and Bobcat

BC cat hunting is under attack by the same group who lobbied for the grizzly closure. I’ll be writing letters to the BC government and encourage others to do the same. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/vancouversun.com/news/local-news/wildlife-group-urges-b-c-to-ban-hunting-of-big-cats/amp
