    Super Kodiak - didn't see any goats, no tracks, no beds, no trails in the scree, no winter shed hair in the balsams........nothing. No bear or wolf sign, no ptarmigan, no marmots...... I did get stung on the way up though! Lots of wasp around this year.

    I got my Boral biviy with a ~6" wide strip of bug netting down the center, ends 1' before the end. Makes for great ventilation, some moisture protection on the bottom and up the sides, and cuts drafts that sneak under the pyramid.

    Black Diamond MegaLite - was quite a bit cheaper than other options as it was available in Canada. I use a Borah bivi inside. Works good other than the flapping in high winds.....

    Puffy jacket for sure and I’d opt for synthetic (primaloft or similar) over down. Also gaiters, mitts/gloves and a good touque. Good chance of snow late September. Have fun!

    Mine creaked too. I took it apart and where the two pieces of the frame fit into each other and pivot at the bottom I waxed (string wax I use on my bow). No more creaking.

    Bausch & Lomb Discoveries 10x42 (2003 to 2017) upgraded to Leupold BX 3 Pro Guides. Bausch & Lomb Elite 15-45x60 (only 26oz). Definitely not high end glass but good enough to pack into the mountains and help me take a couple Stone’s....

    .25-06 for Ibex???

    Although likely smaller than Mid-Asian Ibex, both my girls shot mountain goats with a 243 (at 180 and other at 255 yards). One goat was taken with an 80gr TTSX at 3200 fps over 36.5gr H4895. Other goat with 100gr Partition at 2750fps. Both worked great.
