I used Danner Alsea 400g with Danner Merino Wool socks in Colorado mule deer hunting in October two years ago and my feet were never so cold I couldnt stand it. It got down to 9 degrees in the mornings. If we were moving 400g was just fine, even with 2-4 inches of snow. I wore them again in...
That was the feedback from the others as well, that it was "very sensitive" making it difficult to get right. I am not that concerned about it though. I have two other Zeiss optics that I am enamored with so I am hoping for the same performance from these.
On the optic, take a hard look at Primary Arms SLX line of optics. I've got two now and a buddy has 3. He is particularly hard on his stuff and all 5 of ours have been fine.
.223REM or 260REM for the longer pokes. Run the .223 out of any AR platform that is known for Accuracy, same for the 260REM. DPMS LR308 for the 260 and anything you enjoy on the 223, theres so many accurate AR15 rifles nowdays my recommendation would be Larue Tactical.
Are you looking specifically for a fixed 1x? Or just a scope with 1x capability like a low power variable optic (LPVO)? If LPVO I'd take a look at Primary Arms line, their 1-8x is awesome.
How do you like the Zeiss 15's? I've got a pair on backorder. I read a couple reviews talking about them being difficult to focus. Have you experienced this or not really?
I've got the following to choose from:
Christensen Arms Ridgeline 300 PRC
Bergara B14 Wilderness Ridge 7 Mag
Bergara B14 Hunter .270 Win
Which would you take after CO Mulies? I got the 300PRC thinking we were going to chase some elk but we switched gears and decided to go after mulies...
I'd take a hard look at a Bergara Ridge in .270 WIN. I think they offer a few of their models in .30-06 as well but I'm not exactly sure of which ones.
Look at the Bergara B14 Wilderness Ridge. It comes factory with a muzzle brake and Cerakoted barreled action so you get great field readiness out of it. They offer it in 6.5 CM which is what I would recommend
Look into a Bergara B14 Wilderness. Its a great rifle with a heck of a lot of value for your dollar. Comes threaded from the factory for an aftermarket muzzle brake but also comes with one from the factory.
