I guess i am the oddball that has gone and truely tried mil and then returned to moa. In a few thousand rounds, i couldnt make mils be any “better” for me. I also much prefer sfp reticles to ffp, ive been down that road a few times trying and thousands of rounds and a couple years later came...
For the purpose of initially setting scope elevation, is it beneficial for it to be base 10? My rangefinder says 6.7 I turn the dial until 6.7 not caring about how many clicks.
For the purpose of correcting based upon round impact, the reticle can be looked at like a comparator, say you missed...
ECCO machine can likely make you an aluminum or titanium one if there isnt any out there. They made a flat end cap for my harvester 300 a couple years ago.
Is all of this talk of wind brackets and math any easier than using a rangefinder that gives correction? In a second i can see my elevation adjustment and a 5 mph 90 degree wind value. From there it is just scaling that wind value to what i think actual conditions are. Moa or mil just dial to...
You could do something like bell and carlson has done with plastic spacers to accomodate the 2 piece bottom.
Or make a stock/bottom metal combo, so people just switch to the one piece. 👍
Thats what i was thinking. A guy could simulate it by shouldering a rifle normally and then lowering rear 1.5-2 inches and then trying to see through the scope correct? Though you wouldnt feel the comb on your cheek.
Wouldnt that be the opposite of what he needs? If he is holding the butt pad high on his shoulder, and then the butt pad is moved up it effectively lowers the scope? Or moves the pad higher on/above his shoulder?
Never a problem for me in 3 burned out 6creed barrels. Using the same set of necked down 6.5 creed brass in all 3 barrels. From subzero to 100+ temps.
The loaded neck diameter on my necked down 6.5 brass is the exact same as the factory 6 brass.
Powder temp is an optional feature that will adjust muzzle velocity based upon entered temp and current conditions. I dont personally use it and my shooter has matched my revic and real conditions to the ranges i typically shoot at (900-1100)
When you enter into the calculator, only enter elevation OR station pressure. Not both.
If you have a way to measure station pressure, use that. If not, use elevation. This assuming you dont want to use DA or your calculator doesnt have that option.
