The light weight of the element is appealing but for what ever reason you see more elements for sale than ph2s. On here alone I think there’s more elements for sale than ph2s & ca ridgelines combined.
Yes based on stories I’ve read here I’ve got to play the lotto. My 6.5 prc ridgeline was awesome, my 7 prc ridgeline is great, I’ve got to Leupolds that’s never failed. I think I like the ph2 a little better over the element. I had decided on swaro x5i scope if I went element or FFT.
I was hoping to have already purchased a rifle but life happens. I’m between the ph2, element & CA ridgeline FFT in 6.5 prc. In case I don’t like the seekins stock I’ve already reached out to two different stock companies that both say no to seekins support. I was told seekins was proprietary &...
Has your vx5hd failed you ? I’ve looked at the ph2 for over a year just haven’t pulled the trigger on one. Reviews are great , their customer service is great but they run a smidge heavy & I have concerns on the ph2 lop. My 3 choices for my next deer rifle are 6.5 prc in either another CA...
I prefer a lightweight scopes & didn’t have good luck with my z5 swaro purchase. That being said I keep looking at the x5i 3.5x18.
At the price point/weights you’ve mentioned I will give you another option & I doubt any of the ones you’ve mentioned touch it in glass quality . Eurooptic has a...
I’m with you on the minority mindset but I’ve doubled down on it. I have a vx5hd 3x15x56 on CA ridgeline 7 prc and I’ve had zero issues with either. The vx5 has actually been on two ridgelines and worked flawlessly. I also have a older vx3 3.5x10 w/their Boone & Crockett reticle on a browning a...
Funny you mention the Hornady issue. I experienced my first hiccup with a Ridgeline & it was with Hornady ammo. I currently have a 7 prc ridgeline 24” & I won’t be buying anymore Hornady for it. I grabbed one of the boxes of Barnes & no issues. My 6.5 prc ridgeline however loved the Hornady ammo.
Have you got to play with the Leica much? I noticed that eurooptics have a couple of the s&b polars marked way down. 3x12x54 for like $1800.
Those 2x10s for $700 are tempting , I had also been looking at the 3x18 & 4x24 versions but you add 7 oz of weight & a minimum of $300.
Based on all these CA haters we should buy lottery tickets with all our CA luck.
My 7 prc & vx5hd makes my non shooting self look ok. 5 @ 100 factory Barnes 160 LRX.
OP don’t sleep on CA.
A lot of details & dollars went into this review. It’s made me look at their stuff. I had a AG alpine hunter on my 6.5 prc ridgeline & loved it. I live about a hour from them & they were awesome to deal with. I don’t remember the ladies name but she even asked if I’d like a tour to see how...
For your budget take a hard look at eurooptics. Lots of good options on sale. They have the Bergara premiere mountain rifle on sale. Price depends on caliber but a 6.5 prc is $1349. Comes with a AG carbon stock & weighs 6.4 ish. If want a CA Ridgeline or Ridgeline FFT eurooptic has some...
That sucks,I have been eyeballing the ph2s for over a year. You’re the second person in less than 2 weeks say they had to send an element back. Guess I’ll stick with ridgelines
I almost took advantage of the sweet military discount one of their other lines until I was told to check out your scope evals. Now I’m very much hesitant.
Based off factory posted #s without rings & a brake the ph2 with a Leupold vx6 3x18x50 7.83 lbs, zeiss v6 3x18x50 7.95 lbs & with a swaro x5i 3.5x18x50 8.5 lbs
Realistically with a good scope it’ll be real close to 9lbs maybe a tad over. I think the swaro x5i 3.5x18x50 is the heaviest I’ve looked at even compared to the nx8 & will cost the same as the nx8 2.5x20x50.
