Forming 7mm-08 brass from 260 brass

Here’s one of the ballistic calculators I use frequently. Estimate a loss of 25fps per inch of barrel you take off. For out to 500 yards, I think most bullets around 150gr would get you there with a 16” barrel. To get out to 600, you may need to only go 18”. If you throw a faster twist barrel... -
80 grain hammer hunter powder choice, charge 6.5cm
Probably RL17 just from a quick peek at QL. If it were me, I would start at around 48gr and work up. Looks like a compressed load will get about 50fps higher than Lever or CFE223 at 62,000 psi depending on your barrel length. -

Different max loads on the same powder and bullet?
Lots of unknown variables here. we know brass was different and Nosler is seating slightly deeper, but we do not know: Barrel make for Hodgdon Difference in Nosler data for BT and AB, if any. Could be AB hits max sooner and so published data reflects that. We don’t know when the testing was... -

Trying to find load data but I can never find the exact bullet/powder combo?
I usually start with the bullet I want to use, then plug that into Quickload to figure out what powder I want to use out of what I have, then cross check with published load data to make sure that my numbers are not wildly off. Sometimes that ends up in line with bullet manufacturers preferred...
