Yeah; I’d be just as happy with the venteds...but some people have mentioned that they make a whistle in flight. Again, I’ve never heard it. And even if I did, it doesn’t bother me one bit; has no bearing on an animal in a hunting situation in my opinion.

The solids are supposed to be much quieter, that’s why they made them. But honestly I never noticed any sound with the vented. Maybe it’s because my surroundings were always kind of loud.

I got my hands on an Iron Will Solid 125 gr and was curious to see how it flew compared to the non vented model. Check out the video:

Well I certainly agree edge retention is the top factor in determining penetration. That’s why I shoot A2 and S7 Tool Steel heads. Total cut surface is another big factor. But the angle of the blades is no where nearly as significant of a factor in penetration.

Hmmm. No offense, but I’m not sure where you’re getting your info from; I think that’s based on traditional thought... I used to think the same. But in all my testing of dozens and dozens of heads shot into almost every medium imaginable, I’ve not found much appreciable difference, if any, in...
I finally got my hands on the new Trophy Taker Quad Steel broadhead. The little black stuff on the head is parts of my target after I shot it a bunch of times

You can't find any 150 gr field points in Deep Six? I've never looked, but I didn't know they'd be impossible to find. You could always use a 125 gr; there's not that much flight difference with 25 grains.
But even if you do use the IWs for practice, they hold their edge extremely well and...
I've taken over 50 animals with them, from Canada to Colorado to Africa--Elk, Deer, Bear, Kudu, Wildebeest, Hogs, Turkeys, etc. I believe they have the best balance of cut size, ferrule strength, edge retention, flight, and penetration of any fixed/replaceable head on the market, in the "normal"...
The most forgiving fixed blade heads I’ve tested that are in Deep Six are: Iron Wills, Trophy Taker A-TACs, Solid Legends, Helix, Exodus, and Wacems.
Those all fly well out to 100 yds for me, with no adjustments from my field points. They are not as forgiving as field points, but with a well...
I use Easton charts and they always account for weight up front. Not sure how you can determine the correct spine without factoring in front weight.

I’m trying to see how much different Mt Lion mounts look, based on their weight and gender.
If you have one, can you post a pic and tell the weight and gender of it as well?

I made that switch a while back as well. If you’re looking in the “normal” price range, you will not find anything better than the QAD Exodus. But there are other good options as well: Slick Trick, Shuttle T, and Magnus to name a few.
