Shot placement is more important than what you hit’em with. If you hit big bone, it won’t matter what head you have.
Practice and shot placement, and don’t just stand at 40 slinging arrows. Move around, kneel down, different angles.
Above all, have fun.
I put hockey tape on my Hoyt grip. Seems to help drawing the bow consistently, hand doesn’t slide around on the grip. Cheap and easy to get, plus not adding to the Bowmars legal fund.
Got an old Trautman hip quiver that I used for years, kinda got away from it and used a TightSpot. Drug the hip quiver back out and refurbished it. Works like a charm.
Wife’s is a 17 with 130k on it and never had an issue. She drives like the devil is on her butt, it amazes me that it’s held up.
I’m in no way a Chevy guy, have 2 F250s that I drive, but I’m impress with her Equinox.

First, check the ATA measurement, did the string need to be twisted.
Second, I don’t know that the string is ruined. Looks like the shrink tubing is chewed up, but not the string.
Third, file and sand the groove down. I’ve hunted with a whole lot worse. Dressed a Hoyt cam with a chainsaw file...
