Pretty extensive thread on this already. I get resealable mylar bags that stand up on Amazon. Not the lightest option, but they hold the heat well and are handy.

Kicking around the best way to stiffen the top, where the load lifters attach to a kuiu frame sheet. Under heavy loads, the frame will flex forward. Thoughts so far are to laminate the top of the frame to wood, or epoxy arrows to support the top half of the frame sheet. Any ideas or past...
I use a Patagonia r1, and a kuiu strong fleece 260. The r1 breaths a little better, but really digging the design of the strong fleece. Stops wind decent, dwr treated, breathable panels in the back and sides, and the only pocket on a hoody I have found useful. It is quite warm for some hunts...
I like the stove with me for sure. Its nice to boil half my Nalgene worth, dump it back in slushy water, and be able to chug luke warm water. No brain freeze. It won't feel like you need to drink much, but you still dry out like mad. Definitely don't want to mess with a bladder this time of...
I'd take it a little further, tongue in cheek of course. If you're camping without a hot tent that time of year, you either just don't know any better, or can't afford one and are tough enough to still get after it. Appreciate the laugh wind gypsy and I couldn't agree more.

The new suspension prevented me from spending a pile of cash. The lumbar pad is a ton better in my opinion, and the waist belt wraps around my hips much better. It's a pretty solid suspension at this point in my opinion. If they make a wider and stiffer frame, I would be a happy camper. The...
Anyone have a trusted technique for removing blood stains from leather boots? Have lowa hunters, and had a pretty successful day filling the freezer. One boot got doused pretty good. They need to be treated, and wanted to try and clean up first.

Only have experience with the chamberlain. It was the warmest puffy I could get into without going up a level into the high end mountaineering stuff. Not the lightest, but dang is it a heater. Does exactly what I wanted. My caf puffy.

Latex gloves and wipe it down with acetone or mineral spirits. This just makes it look nice, but finger prints won't hurt anything. You made the investment, might as well have it look cool in your photos!

Welcome. Ozarks are legit man. Keep working and it will get easier. I can find hills in the east tough and steep, similar to the west. We just don't have that whole altitude thing, which is a thing for sure.

Agree with many of the comments above. All of your pads are on the thinner side. Having a thicker pad would give you the ability to let some air out and allow the pad to contour and support your body better. Putting your puffy and extra clothes in a stuff sak under your legs, to relieve pressure...
Saw a thread on here the other month that would not inspire me to give luxe any cash, regardless of savings. Dig around and check it out. My .02
