So I should have added that this is not a solo hunt, I am going with 2 others, both experienced hunters, one has done a lot of successful sheep hunting. There will be 3 hence the tent, which is only 7lbs total which we will be spreading out. The bivy is 2lbs that is for the option of staying out...
1 month out from doing a walkout 8 day Sheep hunt (10 days including travel). 10 miles as the crow flies to base camp, then bivy out of camp the surrounding range. Ramping up training and diet and getting all odds and ends together. Done plenty of moose, caribou and bear hunting up here in...
Sitka Core LW Hoody and Kuiu Peloton 97.
Core Hoody: Durable, breathable, excellent hood, true to size, more of a sun shirt hoody than peloton.
Peloton 97 Hoody: Ultra comfortable, very versatile as base layer in cold or light mid layer, crazy warm for its weight at 5oz, not as durable as Core...
Opinion on these? Anybody know what the price is gonna be and date it’s gonna be released? Gonna be buying either the 97 bottoms because I love the Hoody or 200. Looking at waiting or if somebody has a good deal on the 200s in Verde or 2.0 in medium I’d be interested.
Thanks for the info, I’m eye balling either the P200 or new P97 zip offs coming out just not sure about the long term smell. Figure if I wear some merino boxers should be good on my moose and sheep hunts
All good info thank you. Here is what im lookin at running. I run hot (very hot) even up here in AK. Going 145 base, with a 97 Peloton hoody (5oz) just in case im in lower temps and on the move, and getting the new FL Catalyst Soft shell and then having the down jacket and chugach rain gear. Was...
Looking for a good Merino baselayer, leaning towards the 145 but love a Lightweight Hoody and versatility that I would presume a 210 would bring, just don’t know if it’s too warm to be a base. Who here has experience with both of these items to give a good plus and minus of both?
