    UT Bison

Thank you and yes it is very cool country for sure. Yes, the location he folded was kind of unbelievable (almost too easy maybe), we were prepared for a long hard pack, but we joked that I guess my brother got an extra bonus to go with his birthday bison. I hope to get back for antelope and...

    UT Bison

We had a successful trip, but Bison sightings were rare though. We scouted three days and never laid eyes on a Bull (or any bison for that matter). Luckily on the evening of the actual opener which happened to be my Brother's Birthday we spotted a nice herd and Bill (my Brother) made good on the...

    2023 Blacktail Success Thread

Returned from my brothers OIL Bison hunt in UT in time to get out for the last half of season. I look forward to hunting blacktails in the brush every season a lot. One of my favorite hunts each year. Ended up finding a good old buck with lots of mass!

Closest you've been to a Brown Bear?

30 yards, but I was in a tree stand. Fun to watch the sow and cubs interact. They sure didn't stay long when a boar was approaching though!

    Tagged Out or Tag Soup

This part fits pretty much how I've been my whole life. If it feels right at the time or in the situation, then take care of business, enjoy it and don't look back. (Except to enjoy the memories of course :). )

    UT Bison

I put in my brothers apps this year and it turns out he drew the bison hunt that I put him in for. If anyone has knowledge about the Book Cliffs unit for bison and would being willing to share their experience via PM I'd be very thankful. We have hunted the unit on a couple elk hunts, but this...

Anyone solo backcountry hunting over the age of 60?

I'm only 57, but still hunting solo about half the time. I'm sure things can change fast, but right now I sure plan on keeping at it for quite a few more.

    1st Pheasants of the year

We raised a a couple hundred a year when I was younger. ODFW used to give them to you as chicks or eggs if you turned at least half loose when they were mature. I loved always having them around! We raised chukars also some years. I hope to raise some again soon, but I haven't figured out...
