What you descrided is pretty much the norm in our area for clearcutting these days (private timber/county). Forest service doesn't log much here anymore. Not much burning done these days, except the slash piles on the landings for high lead sides.
The deer, elk and bears will definitely still...
:) Actually got a shooting lane at just under 30 yards, but had him at less than 20 and couldn't see enough to shoot multiple times on 3 different occassions. I finallly was able to slip in between the cows and him. I lucked out and was able to get where he had to cross the lane as he circled...
If you can afford it, put in for 4 or 5 states, every species your interested in. In a few years you will have more opportunity than time if you use some states as opportunity type hunts. This is what I have done and it seems like I'm continually trying not to draw more hunts than I have leave...
I know 3 people who have drawn. 1 was elk the other 2 drew deer tags. I also know of a few others that have drawn also, but I don't know them personally.
Just got back from spring bear hunting. With the exception of the plane and airport, there were no restrictions and no mask requirements ;). Like mentioned above, who knows if that will change at all by August.
