    Mileage tax

That's fine, as long as they get rid of the gas tax. Otherwise it's double dipping. If course, it wouldn't be the first time.

Increase in Political Arguing & Banter?

Politics only to the degree that it is dealing with sporting issues national and on the state level. Those are very important topics near and dear to all our hearts.

    The Case Against Hunter Recruitment

This is such a complicated problem and discussion. Where to even start. I think it can be argued that hunter numbers need to drop because the habitat that is available for hunting is declining. At some point in the future, hunting will have to disappear because the human population will need...

Help with Yellowstone and Glacier vacation.

So much great advice here. I have done yellowstone and tetons six times so far, glacier once. June is tricky. We were very limited where we could go in Glacier because the main road was still buried under twelve feet of snow. We like to camp. Nights can get quite cool. Yellowstone that...

    $350K to Buy Land- Where?

Interesting topic. We just purchased a townhouse (actually two) in Livingston MT. I would not call it the best part of town. Plan was to move in for a bit, figure out where we want to live then use it as a rental. I am not living in it yet but have visited a couple of times. It is growing...

    Moving out West

Take a very hard look at housing, purchase and rental. Covid and political flight is real and it is pushing numbers to points of insanity. I lumped renting into the comment because I am willing to bet there is an overall shortage. Honestly, I would sit tight for a while and let the dust settle.

    Schnee’s Problems

That is a bummer. All I can say is that I have been breaking in/wearing mine for the past two months or so and they have been the best things I have ever placed on my feet. Same goes for my wife. It broke in beautifully and quickly. I wear them all day long, day after day and not a hot spot...

Biden Administration urges Supreme court to let cops enter homes and seize guns without a warrant

Let's see.... Cops would basically be breaking and entering a home. Home is owned by someone we know is armed. Ya, what could wrong? Imagine being the cops showing up to do this? "Joe, why don't you go first? No, you go. I mean you have seniority and you are older than me. I insist. Okay...

    waders

Would like some opinions/help with new waders. Historically, I have never spent a lot of money on waders. My latest pair is made by compass, and cost around 120 bucks. They work fine, no leaks after two seasons, but do not see heavy use. Given the upcoming move to Montana, I suspect I will...

    Height and weight

6 feet and 168 to 170 pounds is when I feel the best. My body wants to be at 175 pounds. I'm 54, and I find it is harder and harder to get down to that 170 mark. Pisses me off. I will get there again once mountain biking starts up again.

    Knees

I just came back from a 4 mile hike with a 50 pound pack. Knees have a slight burning feeling. I find this fairly common, at least for me. Nothing hurts though and by later tonight it will be all good. I am 54 years old though, so I am willing to accept all sorts of weird little aches and...

Simplest recipe for venison in a crock pot?

Chicken broth, half of a neck... bones and all. Season to your liking and cook it for seven hours or more. Tenderest meat ever. Throw some veggies in there for the last couple of hours. Meat falls away from the bones.

    Mountain Training for Flat-Landers

I cannot recommend adding the weighted pack into your workout. I do not know your age, but I am 54 and have started to prepare for my permanent move to Montana. I have a SG 5900 pack that has a bag of rock salt semi-permanently affixed to it. My total pack weight is 47 pounds. I do two to...

Stone glacier 5900 vs mystery ranch bear tooth 80

I am a new SG 5900 owner. I also tried on the MR Beartooth. Like every thread on this subject states, you have to try them. I think the priority has to be placed on the frame, not the pack. For me the Xcurve fit better. Just hugged my body. In comparison, the MR felt like it was pulling...

Which SG backpack do you use?

R3 5900 on an xcurve. It has worked great so far lugging around 40 pounds of rock salt.
