Not even slightly worth it. Elk fighting sounds like trees crashing into one another. No grown man (or even two at that point) could even come close to replicating the sound. You'd pass out from exhaustion even trying.

USPS has been a pain in my ass this month. Have two different packages that have left and re-arrived at the same damn hub like 8 times for 3 weeks. Pissing me off.

Ah yes, a 250 square mile wilderness area filled to the brim with raging rivers, grizzly bears and endless monumental terrain that can kill you is 100% comparable to hailing a taxi in NYC.

I agree that rule is shitty in 80% of wilderness areas in WY. But it really should only apply to the Thorofare. That place is nowhere an inexperienced hunter from the East should venture. They get pretty sick of hauling goombahs out of there in helicopters.

Hard to hear any bugles over the non-stop drone of ATV's in the valley. The world would be a better place if they didn't exist.

I think I shot at least 5 with a .243 as a kid, a few with a .270, and 4 in the last 4 years with a 6.5G. But if I were to opine I think a 6.5G or 6.5CM would be the ideal cartridge for them. Great ballistics and wind kicking ability, and bullet size/energy isn't overkill. 6.5 PRC would fit...
I was just in WY area 47 yesterday and nearly tripped and fell on about 30 sage grouse. Never seen a pheasant or anything else there. Check ravines near water that have good forage. Hell, usually goats there too.

Your focus should be comfort, not camo. If they can see you it's game over, I don't care if you're in a ghille suit made of the sagebrush they're in. They can tell when something is off. Wear bright fluorescent pink for all I care as long as it's not too hot and protects you from the sun and...
Step 1: pick a centerfire rifle cartridge that doesn't start with ".22"
Step 2: kill an antelope with it.
Not even really kidding. Most people make the mistake of going too big and destroying shoulders. They're easy to kill.

I mean, you're not wrong. It could use some improvement especially on the user interface. But when I was applying for HMAs for area 46 it had it built in to only let you apply for and receive a permission slip for one of two HMAs. Just make sure you're reading the ranch rules well and follow...
USFS rules for established mean in a designated campground with metal rings. I would expect BLM to follow suit but don't know to be honest.

6.5CM or 6.5PRC. Either is enough for elk under 400 yards. Don't let people tell you otherwise. Very accurate ammo is widely available and affordable, little to no recoil. Keep it over 140 and you'll have plenty of energy for speedgoat to elk. I'd shoot any hooved big game animal in north...
