It is higher, even higher than I though. It probably averages around 16-17% for over the counter units, at least in 2021. That includes private land of course, so I think public land would even be lower. I am curious what percentage of those are bulls.

I went away from the WB a year or two ago. It became a pain to replace the WB for older models. Then I got new arrows with thinner shafts and it was way to big. I could tell it was hurting my accuracy. I also found that sticks would jamb in it and collect other debris.
It functioned fine...
The hard part will be finding water big enough for the raft and boarding public land in the unit your tag is good for. Where I live, there isn't much of that available.
They dig it! They have been eating game meat since they were babies. Now, everynight at the table the kids ask what kind of meat it is - elk/deer/antelope/duck/chicken/turkey(also referred to as chicken), and plain old "cow". Thanks everyone.
Sounds like a good elk hunting partner to me. You might just have different hunting styles. Noise doesn't bother elk, and I would have no problem with someone eating breakfast/lunch when you're glassing.
