The solution is inevitable.
Raise the price of all non resident tags until they all sell at the maximum price possible. Simple supply and demand. In this case the people paying higher fees can't vote. Easy money.
With my VP 215 you can adjust the time to create a partial or complete vacuum. For elk or fish we set it at 40-60 seconds to get all air out. You do not need to worry about crushing.
We also do raspberries which will crush under a complete vacuum so we set the timer at less than ten seconds...
I have had a VP 215 chamber sealer for the last 5 years and am very happy with it. It has done excellent on a lot of elk, deer and ocean fish. I use 4 ml bags that are about 7 to 10 cents each. They always seal unless I have a wrinkle along the sealing bar. I could never go back to the...
I researched it a few years ago and concluded the 270 WSM with a 140 grain accubond bullet in a Tikka rifle was right for me. I thought about a 30 caliber like the 300 WSM or 300 Win Mag., but concluded the small increase in recoil could cause flinching or shooting discomfort that out weighed...
I don't know, but a heavy rain with a big bull at 14 yards, my guess would be the failure is related to the situation rather than a routine bow failure. It would be interesting to see the video.

That is what I have and it has worked perfectly for hauling out maybe 50 elk and a bunch of deer. The pack has a basic aluminum frame with a shelf, padded straps and a good waistband. It is extremely light weight.
For day hunts I use a Badland Monster fanny pack that holds everything I...
I went back to Unit 23 in Idaho which I had hunted regularly about 15 to 30 years ago. Back then it was great hunting with not to many people.
I was the first to a blocked road about an hour before daylight and hiked in a couple miles.
As it was getting light I could hear faint bugling i...
I live in western Oregon where archery starts next Saturday. I got a few bugling bulls close to home that I might hunt, but probably go east and hunt around Baker, Oregon for the opener. Stay there for maybe a week then go to Idaho for archery near McCall and hunt until the end of the season...
Back in March I bought Weyerhauser at about $15/share. The last month or so lumber prices have gone up sharply followed by Weyerhauser stock going up to $ 28. As long as the home building/improvement boom continues, I expect lumber prices will be high with associated stocks continuing to go up.
I got a check in the mail yesterday for $ 1,046 for my unsuccessful non resident big game combo. As I recall total cost on my Master Card was $ 1,163 when I applied for the tags.
Knowing state government, I'll bet it hurts sending money back like this.
I just checked the MFWP website to see if anything was going on with the drawing for nonresident tags. My status had changed from "pending" to drawing in progress. Standing by and hoping.
Sorry to hear about the total lack of a market for your timber sale. Hopefully you have the flexibility to be patient until the demand comes back. Everything in Oregon is tanking also, but the demand and price should come back hopefully in a few months, but maybe it will take a year or two...
Oregon has closed the state to hunting and fishing by non residents prompted at least in part because Washington folks were coming south for spring chinook in the Willamette, resident fish in the Columbia, and razor clams along the north Oregon coast.
The Weyerhauser stock I bought a couple weeks ago finally showed some life going up 30 % or so this week. As I understand it lumber suppliers are cutting production to keep price from continuing to fall in a period of low demand. Expectations are that when demand for lumber kicks back in...
I support the Washington closure. The problem is people in large metro areas where the virus is most common are layed off work and looking for things to do. They travel to places like the coast to go ocean fishing or eastern Washington to go fishing. Along the way they have numerous contacts...
