My 1yr old is at 45lbs and will probably fill out to 50. My 7yr old is 42-45lbs and I love that size. It seems like more and more pudelpointers are in the plus sized range, with females over 60 and males in the 70s.

Pretty sure it was deliberate and not an oversight. I roughly remember this raising eyebrows and discussion in the proposal phase a while back but getting approved anyway.
Cracks like that are going to come and go as the wood shrinks and expands due to humidity changes. I'm not sure you can really avoid them in the long run
