How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

If you want to cherry pick bad actions, there's a wealth of awful to pick from the guiding industry. And no, I really don't think sublegal ram take would skyrocket. I think the state would take in millions of dollars after PR matching, enabling us to better fund wildlife law enforcement...

How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

You do know that all of the registration brown bear hunts already have management plans that dictate a maximum number of harvest limit and limit of sows in a given period, right? Same as goats. Won't change a thing if you let NRs waste their $1000 on buying a tag "just in case". And the interior...

How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

Yep, I am a resident and yep I've killed a sow brown bear. Knew she was a sow when I pulled the trigger too. Still went over 9' and that area has plenty where she came from. You solve for your concerns by implementing metrics on how many bears/sows are sustainable to be killed in a season and...

How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

I agree, and it's the main problem I have with RHAK---they want to limit NRs based on success rates, not opportunity. Which it's nonsense for things like sheep. Of course NRs are going to have higher success rates than residents when they are required to be guided! But I'm definitely in the...

How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

Nah, it's horseshit. Ditch the guide requirement and the transporters will still give the guides priority since they are more reliable repeat business. But the real thing that will happen is a grundle of NRs will buy a ton of tags, plan to do DIY, and then never put themselves in a realistic...

How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

I'm aware, and I'm aware of that line of argument that RHAK and others used in the proposals and comments. Reread what I wrote. The fact that for some years the random draw happened to spit out a large number of NR applicants is just pure luck. It was not a guaranteed NR allocation. The folks...

How to end NR Wyoming wilderness ban?

That one hurt residents and pisses me off big time. Before this there was no guarantee for any NR tags on that hunt it was just the straight random draw, but now there's a guaranteed 14.67% of total tags going to NRs, with half requiring a guide. Pure horseshit and guide welfare.

Looking for some courage/advice on leaving a job for a 40k pay cut per year?

While I generally think that more family time is worth a pay cut, I would caution making the change right away. My two kids each ended up with a host of health issues that are well managed to the point it has very limited impact on their lives and most people would never know they had major...

    Moving to Alaska

Swap that trailer out for a v-nose enclosed 20' with tandem 3500lbs axles and a drop down drive through door in the front. That sucker will hold it's value up here like you wouldn't believe, but you'll quickly find you don't want to sell it because you'll want it to haul sleds etc. Way cheaper...

    Grinder mushing meat

How long was the meat in the freezer? For me, regardless of which grinder I'm using, I like to have strips of meat cut to a thickness that fits in the feeding tube. And I want those strips to be about 75% frozen. Firm to hard but just barely pliable. That then let's my grind stay extremely...

    The G.O.A.T of upland

You do have some. You just don't have hunting, nor has idfg ever introduced them (which is how most of the L48 states with WTP for them). https://idfg.idaho.gov/species/taxa/17222 I love hearing folks say that chukar are better. Yep. Absolutely. Ptarmigan hunting is terrible and nobody should...
